   Glitchy to say the least. Things work for a couple uploads then it it just stops. Buttons to move forward don’t work. You can go back. Url import works once then also stops. Useless

   AI slopification continues :(. this app first appeared on my radar when a popular fashion youtuber who partners with the app talked about “shopping your closet” as an alternative to overconsumption and fast fashion. indyx initially seemed to be positioning itself as vaguely sustainable in that sense—or at least was marketed by its paid brand partners as sustainable. unfortunately, indyx’s “insider” tier now has an AI “enhance” feature just for the purpose of… generating images of SIMILAR (not the same, AI-generated SIMILAR) garments laid flat. even in the promotional emails indyx sent out, you can see that the before-and-after pics are crummy in that special AI way: the AI-gen “enhanced” images are inaccurate in color, missing tags and other details that were visible in the actual photos, etc. god, what a great use of the limited resource that is potable water! i can’t wait for the data centers to drain our lakes dry! SERIOUSLY, if someone needs a nicer flatlay photo of their garments, they can a) take one themselves, b) search up the exact item and load the brands’ flatlay images into the app (what i did!) or c) search for images of similar clothes. AI is a MAJOR ETHICAL ISSUE that consumes a frankly insane amount of water, poses terrifying privacy concerns, is being increasingly used in mass surveillance and harassment of women, hallucinates, has instructed people on how to harm themselves and others, the list goes on and on. i am so disappointed that the indyx team’s initial attempts to establish this app as in any way sustainably minded were nothing but greenwashing and shallow posturing before showing their complete lack of convictions or care for our planet. i actually was looking forward to getting more use out of this app and i’m so disappointed that yet another thing i liked has been ruined by those at the helm pushing AI on everyone. when climate crisis beyond our current comprehension occurs in our lifetime everyone who was advancing this anti-planet technology will be living in shame that they helped bring such a desolate future about, and hoping every second that no one will realize they were responsible for the planet burning

   Doesn’t work and no customer service help. After uploading just two items through the URL importer, this feature stopped working. I reached out to customer service by email to be told I wasn’t copying the URL right or clicking the paste button… They offered no real help or advice on how to fix this problem. I’ve already deleted the app and will be looking elsewhere.

   Don’t call my closet ugly. I appreciate the new AI feature of editing my upload pictures. However, don’t market it by saying “SORRY YOUR PHOTOS WERE KINDA UGLY”. First, this photo editing feature is far from being perfect. The textures, shapes and proportions get lost in the process. The clothes become generic AI reinterpretations. That’s what I would call ugly. Second, do you call unique, special, vintage clothes ugly looking? It’s my closet you call ugly. I shop preloved vintage pieces that will never look perfect on photos ( at least taken by me) Let’s not use Indyx not to promote consumerism and competition whos outfits look better.

   Good app that they’ve made worse. This app is really cool and a great way to remember clothes that you have in your closet but might not reach for regularly. It’s helped me cut down on buying new clothes. HOWEVER, I have recently noticed that anytime I upload a photo of a new clothing item or take a photo of that piece in the app, the app makes the photo significantly worse. The picture becomes pixelated and often desaturated. The app then recommends that I use their AI photo enhancement tool to improve the photo 🙄🙄🙄 Of course this tool is not free after 2 uses. You have to pay for their premium membership to get it. The AI tool is also TERRIBLE. I used it on a T-shirt that said “Zion National Park” and it turned the lettering into jibberish. I will probably not be using this app much anymore as a result. Huge bummer because up until a couple months ago I was recommending it to all of my friends

    Enhance Edits Limited Despite premium Membership. Membership was purchased and it now says I’ve maxed out my enhanced edits but w the membership you get unlimited. When it worked it was amazing. Frustrated this isn’t working.

    Stop moving things. Ever since they moved the calendar and changed its functionality I find it hard to use the app and my usage has dipped from daily to once a month

    Pricey. Helpful app, but was not aware of subscription cost until after I added everything to my closet and stayed looking around the app.

    Not as useful as it could be. Why isn’t there a spot to make notes in calendar entries? Why can’t you pull up an item in a daily entry and go directly to the item instead of having to back out and search for it?

    Archiving not working. This is a great app but some of the feature don’t work properly. And they need more video tutorials that are current and not 2 years old.

    love minus paywalling. love this app, but the paywalling is getting a bit sad. no longer can see the local temperature without paying. can’t style anyone who doesn’t have the membership w/o paying for the membership. i like the offline feel in comparison to other apps like this, but i hate the limiting features so heavily. the subscription fee is kind of astonishing yearly and monthly. have to recommend whering over this now.

    Changing my review. Honestly gotta change my review and I never leave negative reviews but I am kinda disappointed. This app started out great and really helped me elevate my style. Since then there was a new terms of service update stating they could kick you off for excessive use but never clarified what exactly that entailed. I have gotten kicked off the app multiple times just for browsing my own closet. I was using the app and letting it run in the background while doing other things then I come back and the app closes. I have since found another wardrobe app where this doesn’t happen. My only regret is telling everyone i know about this app just to be so let down by it. I honestly don’t understand why a dev wouldn’t want people using their app as much as they wanted. Seems counter-intuitive.

    Great but room for improvement. There are similar wardrobe apps with better AI. This userface is superior so I will stick with it. But it’s crazy to me that they don’t have at least AI that can pull out the brand and size on a tag if it’s displayed in a photograph. I feel like there should be more color options (shades? Multi?) and you should be able to tag something as multiple things. Like I may have a dress I wear as a dress, but I also wear it as a swim swimsuit cover-up and I want it to come up either way. There is a way to make that happen, but I think it would be easier if you could just put things in multiple categories. It would also be nice if you could create your own categories, if something is missing. For example, there is no category for suits. I have a ton of suits and I don’t really wear them as suit separates so I’d like for them to display together. Why can’t I just create my own category? Or at least every category (tops etc) should have an “other” section that you can type into. Finally, it drives me absolutely bonkers that I have to type the name of the brand in full each time. Most other apps at least have a drop-down with popular brands. Or there could be an auto fill for things that I’ve typed many times. But typing every single character for every upload is a pain and also unnecessary in this day and age. It’s a great concept and pretty life changing once you have it set up, but there are features it seems like it should easily have that it just… doesn’t.

    Could be better. So far I’ve downloaded three apps to digitize my closet, trying to find the perfect one. Indyx is in the lower half. What i love is there is an option to have real interaction with humans and not just ai. But there needs to be more stylists to choose from. Uploading pictures one at a time is really slow and the quality isn’t great. In comparison to other apps it’s Lacking in being able to remove back grounds especially if it’s a stock photo. It’s also missing an ai avatar which i found so helpful on other apps . Indyx is basically just a Pinterest board with stylists for hire. It doesn’t feel like a true opportunity to digitize like the clueless movie. Therefore I’ll be deleting the app, but I’d be willing to come back and upgrade if they fixed Some things bc i haven’t yet found another app with human stylists.

    Finally Feel Like Cher from Clueless!. Absolutely love this app! It’s taken some time to log all my clothes in, but it’s so nice to organize it visually. 4/5 because 1. It took about a week for my paid version to work, and 2. One of my favorite colors is a burnt orange, and the AI feature of the app to clean up the photo and make it look better consistently changes the color to bright orange… not my look. Other than that it’s been great!

    My Everyday Assistant. This closer to 4.5⭐️. The app is really good; I purchased the upgrade after a year of use ; it does provide a much better app experience and a more user friendly process. I use it daily to take my clothing wears, to ensure I am using my wardrobe fully and not leaning to heavily on certain items. I love that they added a flattening capability (though it can be clunky) and I love that they added multiple clothing image capability. That said an app can always improve. I'd like to see an easier/faster way to move items/outfits through the wardrobe. I have 250+ clothing items and 450+ outfits and digitally dragging a new item to my shoe section can be a chore (30+ seconds). And it always takes back to the top of your wardrobe at the start of moving an item. I'd like to see a packing list that allows you to check off items as you pack them.

    Perfect but missing bulk editing. I wish this app had more bulk options for quickly using it such as batch image upload or bulk editing to add tags or other details to multiple items. Other than that, it’s a really nice app with a clean design and I’d recommend it to anyone looking to catalogue their wardrobe.

    my new favorite app. i truly love this app. i’m constantly playing on it creating outfits for myself and for total strangers. it’s so much fun and i keep recommending it to my friends. i do wish that the social aspect of the app was more prevalent. you can follow people but it doesn’t mean much; you don’t see their feed and can’t even see who follows each other! there’s also a few random switches that i think would improve the app. for one you should be able to add your outfit to the calendar as you create it. the “add” section should also just automatically open to the create an outfit tab not the add an item tab.

    Lovely app!!!. This app has allowed me o take 140 items and make more than 4 outfits (that’s what I did without it). One thing I wish it had was a makeup category because sometimes I want to prepare everything for a certain mood or look I may want to achieve

    Powerful, daily use app.. This is the app I had been looking for for years. Yes the initial upload can be a pain. But being able to pull up your whole closet on the go, when shopping, and using the collections to plan for packing is irreplaceable. The app is still feels new and with the small team behind it there are some kinks, but all the important functionality (uploading, storing, and viewing the closet) is great. This app has helped stop many an impulse purchase, and given me so many ideas on how to dress using the clothes I own.

    Literally my fave app. This app has completely changed how I get dressed, pack and plan for trips, and how I view my closet. I tell all my friends to get it, even my fiancè wants to Indyx his closet now. Just get it you won’t regret it

    Great to organize. I love Indyx. I lay out my clothes plan for the week and it helps me stay organized. You can upload all your items. It is quick and gives you great visuals on what items you have in closet.

    The best way to invest in your wardrobe. After using the free version for about a year I switched to the paid one, and I have not regretted it! This is a great way to find out what you have, what you like, and what you might waste your money on. I eventually took up the courage and booked a stylebook - and I was so happy with the result. I deleted a number of things that were on my wishlist since the stylist opened my eyes for all the great things that are already in my wardrobe.
