   Run!. This is a very antiquated and unimpressive app. Functionality is minimal and communication with support is abysmal. If you want your trades to be performed sometime between next week and next year, this app is for you! To put it in perspective, I tried to open a Roth account and fund it this year. No one seemed to know how to do it, but I found a back door way to do it. Support finally responded a month later stating they screwed up and my complaint was valid, but not that the actually did anything to fix the problem. Limited trade options, clunky platform, terrible service. They likely should t have any stats but no other option.

   Terrible company. I would not recommend this company. Deposits take over a week to process and often have small issues leading to longer delays. Customer service consists of form letters. Of all the investment banks I have dealt with, this one is by far and away the worst.

   Data Breach, Zero Notice!. Betterment had a data breach in January of 2026. I received zero notice that my info was stolen. I was only informed by reading an online article. Thanks for not keeping me informed Betterment PR management.

   Untrustworthy. Crazy! My personal information was stolen by one of the people or entities which work for Betterment or are contractor with them! I can’t trust this company!

    Basic and full of bugs. You get notifications of deposits only to never ever find them in the in your account and app. Notifications for fake deposits are constant in the app. Search and viewing of transactions is so basic that you need to export data to another tool to get any insights. Filtering of transactions is so buggy that you can’t trust that it’s showing everything and you have to scan transactions manually to double check its work. Use them for investing and skip using betterment for checking or everyday usage. Way better options that don’t make you do manual work and where you can trust data.

    App is flawed and dangerous. The app reminded me to contribute to my Roth IRA before deadline. When I did I did not realize it went to the wrong tax year. Maybe I should have checked again before depositing, but that is such a grave error to allow. Customer support was not helpful and purely email responses just frustrate me more when there’s no way forward. I’d give negative 2 stars if I could.

    Betterment support. Terrible. Almost impossible to find a human representative to address a problem. Once a representative did finally get to a phone, I was told the problem would have to be addressed by the “operations team”, which can only communicate via email. As an 85 year old, computer illiterate customer, Betterment has missed the boat attempting to address this demographic.

    Sort of okay, but.... I would like to be able to cancel transactions that haven't been completed yet, such as rollovers while on the app. iPad iPad iPad iPad iPad version, please. I cannot see some of my accounts or account histories. A frustrating app. Statements? Where?

    Impossible to deposit money/Delete Profile. What an awful app. I connected my bank accts to start investing. But, it will not allow me to deposit a single dollar. I keep receiving error messages. So, I decided this isn’t the app for me. Only problem? There’s no action available to delete my info from the app. Just another scam app designed to farm personal info so they can sell it to the highest bidder. DO NOT JOIN!!

    Not worth it. I tried Betterment for 5 years. Their returns are worse than SPY. As an engineer, I thought computer can do a better job. I was wrong. When I tried talking to them, they pushed me to go to higher tier. I closed my account and invest myself now.

    Poor design. The user interface face is centered around finishing tasks rather than portfolio analysis. Well simple to transfer money, it seems like someone slapped this together in 10 minutes. I still can’t find portfolio growth or any other features and tools I would consider modern. I regret getting it.

    transferring too slow. too slow of transfers has caused a few overdraft fees - very unpredictable when transferring. customer service needs improving. hard to talk to a real person + only being available M-F limits what customers need.

    WILL NOT ALLOW YOU TO ACCES YOUR MONEY!!!!!!!. Will hold up your funds for weeks at a time and then say they cant do anything about it. Lost my lease because they said withdrawl would take 1-3 business days. It is now going to take over 2 weeks and I am screwed. Would give negative stars if possible

    Big Losses. -11.4% Return after 6 months. Cutting my losses and going with Motley where I have control and with a MUCH better track record. Lazy never pays off. 2/26 update. I got word that this very old account had been leaked to the dark web. I’ve attempted to delete this account many times. There is NO support or information on the leak or on deleting an account. I will not sit on hold for hours - my time is worth more than that but obviously not to them. I’ve disconnected all accounts so it can just sit there. I would NOT recommend Betterment for these reasons.

    Incompetent customer service. Every time a debit card expires they have a message on the app claiming a new card will be sent that never arrives multiple calls to customer service gives the same lazy response about a system glitch that they will fix right away still no card these people are not reliable
