   Holding my Pics Hostage!. I’ve used Photo Vault for over a decade and trusted it to safely store my weight loss pics. I only had about 20 photos in total. I just tried to add one more and suddenly got a message saying I’d gone “over the limit,” and now I can’t even open the app or remove anything unless I agree to pay $12.99 a month. There’s no option to access, delete, or export my own content without subscribing. That’s unacceptable after years of use. It feels like a paywall trap that holds users’ personal photos hostage. Really disappointed that a once-reliable app has turned into this.

   They keep making it worse. They will shove ads in your face every 2 seconds and then they’ve made it a requirement to connect the app to the internet. You now can’t use it at all unless it’s connected, so they can show you ads. They didn’t even have the decency to make sure the error message had proper spelling and grammar.

   You’ll lose everything!. Edit: you’ve made being connected to the internet mandatory!! When the paywall pops up, if you’re not connected, you cant access your content. My data is locked, until you update this. I’ve been using the app for probably 10 years now, everything worked. I could turn on airplane mode and access the app, but suddenly it requires a connection and just shows the paywall and doesn’t even let you view or export your content. Despicable.

   Don’t get squeezed- they remove basic features from free version. I’ve been using the free version of this app for years and it’s done most of what I want. Lately they have been degrading the free version, intentionally making it hard to use, like disabling the multi-select feature which lets you operate on groups of images together. Basic features like this are suddenly only available via monthly or annual subscription. Don’t get started because exporting images is difficult and you may end up locked in and at the mercy of their arbitrary pricing scheme.

   👎🏻. I want to enable access to the app without a password or Face ID in the settings. Sometimes I like having the option to keep the app always open without a password or Face ID.

   Broken & ad-ridden. Response to dev: - Device = iPhone 15 Pro - Version = iOS 26.5 Video playback has been broken for at least a year. Some videos start 5 seconds ahead and even when looped, the first 5 seconds are just skipped entirely. Updated the app to see if that would fix anything, and instead I got more ads despite paying for this app a long time ago. I am very disappointed.

    Scam. This was a very good app, but then changed it for the sake of $$$. Initially you could change the app icon, which I did, but upon updating it, now said icon is now “Premium.” Then also ads galore! Why would I need to have a “subscription” when my photos will stay on my device and not on a cloud service. So why am I paying for a subscription when there is NO SERVICE being provided?! Seems like a scam cash grab.

    Deleted all my pictures. I loved this for years until one day all my photos were gone. Customer service told me it was because I deleted the app, but I never deleted it. They would not give me a refund for the year. Very disappointed in customer service.

    Worst app ever. I don’t understand how this app has great reviews. I’m not sure if a recent update is causing this but I downloaded it and been trying to upload my small business videos/photos to store for the past 10-15 minutes but it keeps giving errors. So I tried uploading atleast 3-5 at a time and no matter the number of items, it kept giving errors. Now I’m just wasting my time trying. And the files are not big at all. So irritating already and instantly deleted my account/app. Fix your app, it’s been out for years and still horrible.

    Do Not Waste Your Money Lost All My Photos. I had to completely reset my phone and thought my images and photos would be safe. I’ve paid $7 per month for years to back these up. It appears either nothing is there or will download into my app. This is completely useless. What a waste of money.

    I have been using this for years, Now they charge do use it. I have been using this app for years and today for the first time in all the years I’ve used it they now have taken away my ability to login because they want me to join as a pro. they’ve been hounding me for payment now for several weeks, and now they have taken away my ability to completely login, and I have no access to any of my photos. these app creators are trying to get rid of the free users so that it’s a paid platform only. Be warned this app is no longer free. Please move on to a free app. i’m very disappointed that my relationship with this app has now come to an end, because the owners of this app are greedy. you got a one star review for me. I want access back on my Photos so I can go to another app platform. you are completely change the login so that it does not take alphabet characters. and now I can’t login to access my photos.

    Stopped Recognizing Album Passwords. After the last update, the app does not recognize any of my album passwords. I currently have no access to any of my photos. Contacted support via their portal and have not heard back in almost a week, even after follow up. The password recovery via e-mail function doesn’t work either. After a certain amount of attempts it asks if I want a recovery email sent to me (and displays the correct e-mail address) in 10 minutes, but the e-mail is never received. Yes, I have checked Junk/Spam.

    Ads could not be more intrusive. I get it, the free version has ads, but these ads come up every time you try to use the app and you can’t dismiss them, there will be an x after the ad, but when you click it, it clicks through to the product being advertised, very deceptive and frustrating.

    Message to Subscribe When I Already Gave a Subscription. I pay $39.99 yearly for SV Photo Vault. It renews December 1st. When I open the application, I am getting a notification that my cloud support will be deleted if I do not renew my subscription. Isn’t that $39.99 what I am paying for? Thank you! Since I have not received a response from your support team to my 5/1 email.

    Good app, slightly annoying note. Goood app, I like how you’re able to have the images fully downloaded and not have the resolution be blurry without wifi, and also be able to delete the original on your device while keeping the copy. I just hate how I have to keep the app open to import all the images and videos which takes forever.

    Used to be awesome. Back in the day I paid for lifetime version. Since then the app has added “features” and stuff but now it wants me to pay a subscription for it. That’s so disrespectful to sell something, full version, lifetime, then add a bunch of new stuff and say nah, not for you. I don’t even want any of the new stuff, but it’s in my face all the time and I get pop-ups for subscribing to premium if I accidentally tap any of those things.

    Good no Great. Does a lot of things well but I’ll only highlight the shortfalls I’ve noticed. 1. Loses the metadata. The dates you add it to the folder are the new dates. I moved some items out of order and they stayed in that order. 2. Can’t sort. Not by date, ot types as to whether photos, videos, etc. 3. Can’t stream. Apple airplay, cast, none available. Can’t send to display on TV.

    Peace of Mind. This app is simple and provides considerable peace of mind. It never stays open. You are required to reenter the password anytime you change screens going away from the app even for a second. I'm so glad I found it, for my sensitive documents and personal photos of friends and family.
