   New phone same apple account password do not port over. I got a new phone, still an apple and the old passwords do not load into the new phone. Went through all of the FAQs, they do not match. So I have no solution and no way to get a hold of anybody to get a solution. “Customer service” is working on developing new apps. How about work on helping me with my problem? Maybe leaving a bad review will get me some assistance…

   Time to Say Goodbye. I've been using this forever and over the past year of so it has seemed glitchy when trying to save new or changed passwords. It hasn’t been updated in 5 years so clearly the compatibility issues are not - and will never be - fixed. I spent $5 way back when for the app, but it’s too important to have a place to store passwords when there are other options out there that work and will be supported. Great app, still use it (for now), but it’s time to say goodbye.

   Worse Software Ever. Pull up a password on your watch and it stay on only that page forever! No way of looking anything else up! Syncing between your devices is sporadic. Last update 5 years ago, no wonder!

   Unsupported and no update in 4 years. HIGHLY recommend you find an option that has been recently updated and a company that supports the app. They do not respond to any support inquires. And the app has become unreliable. Do NOT trust it with important information.

   Avoid for MacOS. I have been using DataVault for over 15 years very successfully across Windows and Apple devices. Mysteriously 6 months ago, it started dumping temp files on the MacBook hard drive, nearly 1MB each several times per minute. I noticed I was running out of storage space, and discovered that these temp files were by that point using 160GB of storage. Despite reaching out to Ascendo support, a solution was not identified and the support team fell quickly silent and unresponsive despite several follow-ups. Needing an alternative, I found Bitwarden which is free, a much more up to date app, works seamlessly across all devices/platforms, and readily imported Datavault’s CSV file. A disappointing end to a long run with DataVault.

   Never syncs to PC. I tried moving this onto my PC, and I had a lot of trouble. But I recently bought a new PC with a different system, etc., etc., a fresh install of windows… and guess what? This thing still won’t sync. If you are only using a Mac, this works fine from iOS to your Mac. But if you have a PC, and you think you’re going to have success with this software, you are not.

   Bugs and no updates in the last four years. This app holds and stores your info on your phone, but there has been no updates in the past four years. I continually have issues with the app not saving edits which it is very frustrating.

   Unable to get my passwords. After using Data Vault for years, I purchased a new iPad. When I attempted to restore all my password data to the new device, it rejected the request with the message “password must be the same as the one used at the time of backup”. The passwords are the same. I emailed support twice and finally received a reply…. the fix suggested was to re-boot the iPad. This did not work. Now I have years worth of passwords that I can no longer access.

    No longer syncing. Last few changes have not synced across my devices, not sure why this is as before it automatically synced when I made a change on one device in the app. I’ve been using this app for a long time and disappointed to have this happening. Could this be an iOS 18 issue??

    Keeps losing information. Keep losing information I put in from the beginning or changes I make later. Only app by pay $20 for when purchased years ago. Have reached out to develop her several times in the past, even tried calling when I got the phone number. Problem just keeps getting worse. Shows that hasn’t been an update in 4 years. They’ve pretty much abandoned this app! Have to start looking for a replacement password manager.

    Edits not saved. I’ve been using this app for years. Just lately, when I change my password and edit the entry in DataVault, the changes are not saved. It takes several attempts to get the database to save the edits. Looking for something new…

    Cannot save. The application doesn’t save data from time to time. You have to make the application reliable to keep your reputation up. How can you have buggy app and expect other people to trust your other product

    Sync failure. Can't sync iPad with iPhone. Both have up to date iOS. ICloud is on with both devices and other software sync works.

    Does not save data I enter. Everything about DataVault works well except it never saves the data I enter the first time. I've learned to copy numbers that I put in, then I try to save it multiple times. I close it out, and I open it up again only to find out that it didn't save anything. Sometimes the second time I do this it works, and sometimes it takes three times! This is a huge and frustrating time sink! It happens every time I want to edit something. This did not happen the first couple of years of using the program but it has happened very consistently the last two years. The company is completely unresponsive. I have written them several times and while they might write back, they have not been helpful. I would change programs in a heartbeat because of this except that I have so much data in the date of all that I don't know how to transfer to another program. Because of this problem, I no longer recommend DataVault.

    ALL data lost in IOS 16.7.1 update!. I backed up my datavault file before I started the IOS 16.7.1 update. The first thing that worried me was DataVault disappear from my phone after the update. Ok, I’m worried, but I can re-download the app and restore from my backup. I downloaded the app, and attempted to restore from backup. The backup file name isn’t familiar to me, and NONE OF MY DATA was restored! I had over 6 YEARS of data in my backup file! Someone PLEASE reach out ASAP to see if we can recover my data!!!!

    Do not use. DataVault doesn’t save info - it’s only job. I regularly add new info to the DataVault app and save it, only to come back 5 minutes later and realize it wasn’t saved. I have to duplicate logins multiple times to make sure one of them will save my info. It’s infuriating. I’m going to have to find a new password manager but I’m not psyched about having to transfer all that data.

    Face ID Won’t Work For Backup. Purchased this APP and used it to keep track of passwords. Face ID was my method of logging in. Upgraded my iPhone - NOTHING in the database transferred. Face recognition is working and will let me login BUT the database is empty. I can’t remember the old master password so I can’t RESTORE the database from a previous backup. You should remove Face-ID if it doesn’t work for your product across all the files!

    Losing data often. I found that new items I created or edits on the existing item got lost from time to time. I have been double checking whether the new changes are added properly or not for several years, whenever I add a new item or make changes. Very annoying. I’m looking for a new App to store my passwords that doesn’t make me worried of losing data.

    Disappointed. Lost all my passwords by transferring into new phone. Never had this issue before. I have had this app for a few years. Very disappointed and now I have to try and retrieve all that I lost. Be warned once it’s lost…..it’s gone!

    Awful customer service - I believe they are out of business... do not buy.... When I first purchased this app it did what I ask you to do… Then I ran into issues syncing between devices but customer service was unable to help and seemed uninterested in helping… Which makes me believe that they are no longer in business and just have someone answering questions… I suggest not to purchase this app…

    Caused me to lose time and money. Used to be very happy with this app. Some time ago it randomly decided if it will save updates to my passwords or not. I change the password, hit done button, the password looks saved but next time I log in the password magically reverts to the old one. This caused me so much lost time in recovering passwords. This is a shame because I really liked this app. I have to find a replacement

    No Customer Support. I purchased two versions of this program. One IOS version and a Mac version. Although the programs work well, I am unable to load this program on my Wife’s phone without repurchasing it. DataVault advertise that it may be used through Apple’s Family sharing for up to six family members. I’ve asked for support multiple times and DataVault has repeatedly ignored my requests. Before you purchase realize that there is no Customer Support available.

    Using this app for many years but. . .. This was my review: “It is a very good app that keeps all our devices in sync through Dropbox, would like to be able to use other cloud services.” So they added iCloud to the sync on the IOS but they did not add iCloud as a sync for windows devices. With so many devices, we got forked over and when trying to go back and access backups that are listed, they do not exist in the folder. So although it worked great when we had to manually sync, they did a poor job of thinking trough the cloud based sync and IMHO missed a huge opportunity to set up their own cloud service and gain subscription fees. I plan on transitioning to another platform that clearly syncs from a designated cloud location. Sorry and goodby

    Years of use. I have been using DataVault for many years. I started using it on my PC before I even had a smart phone. Now I use it on my iPhone and Mac, and everything still works great. It’s easy to use and syncing is effortless.

    Was a great product. Update DO NOT RECOMMEND anymore. It seems when you revise a previous entry or make a new entry save it the revision does not stay. If you exit and come back in the revision is gone. I contacted DataVault several times and they never replied back Been using this app for years. Had some problems and all were corrected with app updates. Has good security, & easy to use. What I love even more you pay one time for premium and not monthly subscription fees

    Poor version regression testing / becomes unusable. The app used to be really great, and now I’m unable to update entries, as the new and/or updated txt, and key-value pairs disappear after saving. And this is happening for the last 3 versions! Can you do better??
