   Customer service was… honestly wicked… & This app is not safe. Hi everyone, if you care about who exactly you are supporting behind businesses, please do not support this app from an owner who lacks empathy and a moral compass. Who thinks it’s okay to say “I can’t make it more clearer than that” to not only a client but a person. I downloaded this app, looking for a better alternative to pages on iPhone. After downloading the app, some of files were already on the app. It did not ask me for any permissions, I did not choose the files myself, the files were just already there right after downloading. If you have an iPhone just stick with pages because this was stress for no reason. Now I have to wonder about what data this app has stored from my iPhone without my permission. Instead of the owner explaining gently how the files got there without me selecting them, the owner chose to be arrogant, callous, condescending, and…. wicked.

   Useless without subscription. You can’t use any of the features without signing up for the $30 subscription which makes this app pointless. Might as well just use your notes app on your phone.

   Lost all Written Files. Never deleted the stories written I just opened it one day and they were all gone. Be sure if you use it to send a pdf of any documents to another app or location because it won’t permanently hold onto them and the function is way overpriced (30 bucks a month to just type on your phone and having files just vanish is insane) Kept the downloads of other documents but not a good app for just writing stuff down and storing it.

   Stoled my work.. Stoled my work and now I keep receiving an error on my other app. I can’t see my previous writing at all this invasive app downloaded my work from my iCloud automatically. Somehow my work just appeared on this -Paper app- with some weird codes and this / on each paragraph or in between sentences! Thank god I had saved my original story somewhere else!! :/

   Doesn’t work. Downloaded to try to make a simple text file. Pasting raw text into the app causes it to lock up. Deleted the app, useless to me.

   No undo function. I write lyrics and was working on a project on my pad and accidentally deleted everything I wrote with no way to undo it… all my intellectual property gone…this is why I will always prefer pencil and paper

   INCREDIBLE! It lost EVERYTHING!. It’s been soooo many years, I’ve forgotten what it’s like to write up a whole document, click done, and then when I go to open it next, find ALL MY TEXT GONE. I forgot these things even happen. Definitely never going to risk writing with this app again.

    Lost all my documents!. Been using the Paper app for the last 3-4 months... all of a sudden all my created documents have just vanished! Nowhere to be found.... serves me right not to use a trusted software like google drive.... it’s as if all the documents literally vanished from my iPad! If you can help, I’ll consider changing the review

    I hate how it starts up. It’s always starting with opening a document but doesn’t let you make one, no open a new document no create a new. Awful

    Overpriced. This is actually an elegant app. The two stars are for being overpriced. I didn't realize until after I purchased a one year subscription for my iPad that I have to purchase another subscription to use it on my Macbook. That would be a total of $198 per year! There are far more capable writing apps that work across all my devices at less than half the price. Way too expensive.

    Questionable File Storage. I really wanted to like this app, and I did when I first started using it, but I was dismayed when I reopened the app to continue writing onto a file I had created and it was just completely gone. I proceeded to create a new one and watched the file, again, disappear before my very eyes when I tried to save it. Most likely a glitch, but very offputting and upsetting considering the amount I had written on that file that is now just gone.

    Paywalled or not?. Even the most basic of features you'd expect from a writing tool are considered "pro" worthy. I'm not paying just to change my toolbar and font, that's absurd. It seems to just let you use it for free regardless. If it's a free trial, it won't tell you how long it lasts. Just wait, someday all the sudden it'll be payment only. My quest to find a decent writing app continues.

    Randomly deleted all of my projects one day. Im a pretty large content creator in my own corner of the internet and I’ve been using the app to keep my projects organized and I just opened it, prepared to post some of my prewritten projects only to find every single one is gone without a trace. The composition of the app is nice and i’ve enjoyed how neat it is but the fact i need to completely rewrite all of that is incredibly frustrating.

    Kind of a joke. I wanted a simple app to just display text. There are a lot of bugs — wouldn’t even let me create a document until I went into my files and made it manually. Barely lets me hide my keyboard (usually it doesn’t). This app needs major work.

    Why mess it up with inclusion of controversial AI?. What a beautiful app. It would be perfect except for the inclusion of AI. Encountering this app during the Writer Strike makes this a sore point for a lot of people who make their livings on writing. As someone very distrustful of AI and very unsupportive of the way in which they are trained on the work of millions of writers without compensation, I was alarmed to find “Write with AI” on the first menu when trying to paste something. This button should be found nowhere in any writing app, particularly one so otherwise clean and simple. AI does not exist in the realm of paper. This contradicts the prime name of your app. I cannot unsee that word in that menu, and I want nothing to do with it. Now I’m left concerned about whether my private work in app or file system might be read by ChatGPT’s AI. Regardless it’s concerning that text generating AI would be included in an an otherwise simple and uncluttered WRITING app such as this. I don’t ever want to accidentally touch a button saying “Write with AI.” I don’t even want to see it. 5 stars minus 4 for “Write with AI” with one more than minimum added for otherwise apparent perfection. I may have to subtract that one in future. Please perfect your app! AI does not exist when using paper. It’s a massive distraction knowing that button is two taps away and completely ruins this otherwise perfectly simple app. Regardless of whether I interact with the AI I’m left thinking about it being there and wondering whether it might do certain things instead of focusing on writing. It’s like having an advertisement for some other addictive technology or substance right in the middle of the app. Can’t unsee. Worse it’s a job and work stealer, past, present, and future. Simplify it. Remove it, please.

    It’s good and I love it but. I love this app it’s very helpful , but I genuinely think that the option to make texts bigger or change the way the texts look isn’t something you need to pay for , though I sincerely love the app , I also wish it would tell you when you move onto the next page because it only tells you how many pages there are when you go to print the paper. For those who are reading this to determine if you want to download this app no you do not need to pay but for certain tools other than the original that they give you yes you do have to pay. But other than that it’s an amazing app I definitely recommend thank you

    Review. I enjoy (paper) this app. But some days it doesn’t show me this recent ones. Since there was no writing board or something similar to that on my iPod I downloaded this. (There was a writing board but when I paste in to the (Freeform) old writing board the word didn’t format correctly)

Hey Ive only had this app for a month now but like i was writing a story and it erased like have of my story and could you add like a thing where people on the app can read the story and make To be continued kinda stuff cuz like in my opinion that would be legit and and I don't wanna lowkey write more complains cause I'm pretty sure other people have the same ones but it's okay like not good but not bad

    Okay. Neat, clean app for notes/writing. Too expensive for what it is. Annoying cursor. Edit: In response to the developers response: You can turn off the cursor during the untimed free trial - but whenever that ends, all of the options, except text size and dark mode, are behind a paywall. $29.99/mo or $99.99/yr It is a really slick app. It’s beautiful. Very well designed. But all of the options are (or will be) behind a paywall. To me, a casual user on a mobile device just wanting to take some notes, the price is a non-starter. Perhaps if I wanted to use it to replace Word on my laptop it would be something to consider, but I’m only taking notes on my phone. My one real complaint is that the cursor, which will jump around and ‘fall asleep’, when ‘waking up’ again causes the app to freeze. Not always and not for long but long enough to become irksome.

    Minimal and beautiful app. This is a very simple and clean writing app. But I don’t understand why the premium features are subscription based! It looks like everybody is going on the subscription model even if it does not make sense! The premium features in this app should be a one time purchase.

    Cute. Good, functional, the animations help me write faster and more. The features have a paywall but eh, you can still ‘use’ them so that’s nice. BUT and this it’s important: I lost 500 words because my work didn’t save. So be careful with that. I do recommend tho
