   false advertising. advertised $98 the charged me $195, then you have to guess which words in the sentence translate into what.

   Watch Out $$$. They hide the automatic subscription. When you think you did not sign up for it, you did. When you find out they say you did and you ask for a refund one day after, no refund. Not a satisfied customer, like all others, they will rope you in with a trial and continue to up sell waiting for you to be “auto” re-subscribe just to get one more payment out of you. Likely, most people quit this and go to another service.

   App doesn’t work. I can get to my dashboard after i log in but when i try to click on any lessons it just freezes and i cannot actually do anything on the app. I really hope this will be fixed but from reviews it looks like an ongoing issue.

   Audio stops. Before I review the app, let me say that Japanesepod101 is at least a four star service. But, that means very little when the app used to access it just stops playing audio in the middle of a lesson. This happens all the time, and I have to open my phone and find where I was and start over again. I have no such issues with any other streaming service on my iPhone. Since I prefer listening to the lessons while walking instead of on my desktop (where it works fine) this makes it not worth my time, and therefore not worth the amount I spent for a premium subscription. I’ll put my dollars elsewhere next time.

   App keeps freezing and I just downloaded it!. Installed and reinstalled like 4 times and it still crashes everytime I click the lessons. Ridiculous!

    Beginner Season 1 with Peter. Awful! Supposed to be a lesson but more of a talk show. Too much joking around, laughing, off topic nonsense chatter. Similar to two jokester kids who can’t take anything seriously. Even times they display a flirtatious vibe towards one another. No professionalism whatsoever. To make matters worse, when you have to listen to the talk show segment a second time, it’s excruciating painful torture. You’re forced to listen to the same stupid jokes, hearing them laugh again about things that aren’t even funny and the several other off topic interruptions throughout the course. God forbid you have to listen it a third time for review. I paid to learn not listen to a talk show and hear two people playing around. I can do that for free on YouTube.

    Won’t let me delete my account. I decided this app doesn’t help me with language learning and when I tried to delete my account, it directed me to send an email. But the email is not able to be sent because my email (outlook) was unable to authenticate the email address I was sending the email to. This app seems a bit fishy and scammy.

    Not too useful. I thought I would try a new app to learn Hebrew. It turns out I had previously tried this app and deleted it. Well, I’m deleting it again. It’s too confusing. I tried to do the initial test and I could not answer any of the questions, and I’m not a complete newbie to Hebrew. I was expecting audio video lessons, at least audio..

    Misleading 'Free Lifetime Access' - Be Aware!. This app advertises 'free lifetime access,' which is very misleading. While the app itself appears well-designed and the lessons seem promising, the free access is severely limited. You only get access to a small selection of recent lessons and the first few lessons of each course. To access the full library of content, you'll need a paid subscription. This bait-and-switch tactic is disappointing. Be aware of these limitations before downloading, as the advertising is deceptive. I saw one of their videos on YouTube promoting the "free lifetime access" and followed the link in the description. After creating my account, I was surprised to see a message stating I had a 7-day trial subscription. This was completely unexpected, as the YouTube ad strongly implied a truly free lifetime account. This experience felt very deceptive. In my opinion, the company should be much clearer in their advertising about the limitations of the "free" access. Instead of implying unlimited access, they should explicitly state that it's a limited trial and that a paid subscription is required for full access to the content.

    Unusable on iPad Air 13in. None of the navigation buttons work so I can’t move through my lessons, absolutely a waste of money if you can’t use the web version, and even that is outdated.

    Might be a great app but it shuts down every 30 seconds. While there are so many different features and cool things about this app, the reality for me is that it closes every 30 seconds or so. I can't have it open and connected to Bluetooth, can't have it open and use maps, can't have it open and use another website. It just keeps closing down on me no matter what I do even with the most recent update. fatal flaw like this is a reason to avoid the app entirely

    Not appropriate word of the days. I downloaded this for the word of the day widget and immediately it shows me a picture of a cockr**ch!!! Thats a very common phobia and also not a very useful word to know as a beginner either

    Doesn’t work on a shoddy internet connection even when content is downloaded for offline use. If the internet connection is poor for even a couple seconds, the app crashes.

    App Doesn't Work and Content for Some Languages is Limited and Outdated. This app works OK the first time you open it after downloading. The next time you use it, it either freezes as soon as you click on a lesson or works for a minute or so and then crashes. The only solution is to delete it, then download it again and start all over. It has been like this for many months now, through multiple updates, and the developer is evidently unable or unwilling to correct the problem(s). A further issue may be that ILL is now attempting to cover too many languages. They have assured me that they release new lessons weekly, yet the upper intermediate and advanced Japanese content seems not to have been augmented or updated in any meaningful way for years. What's there is not terrible, but it isn't great, either – and there's very little of it. In any case, if you're interested in learning a language, rather than wasting your time downloading the same app over and over, you should look elsewhere! (If you're wondering, the only reason I'm still attempting to use this terrible product is that I stupidly purchased a two-year membership, and the app stopped working about nine months in.)

    App full of bugs. The lessons are great, but the app is full of bugs, you click on things and there is this infinite loop. You need to reset the app all the time.

    Doesn’t Work. For the last several months I have been unable to use this app. Everything works fine until I click on a lesson to play it, and which point a loading spinner shows up and never leaves. The only way to get out is to force quit. The issue has persisted to my new phone. Obviously this renders the app unusable.

    Could be better.. Too much talking about nothing and not enough teaching. The words of each lesson are too easy and don’t match the much more difficult dialogue and quizzes. Too much emphasis on grammar jargon. This is not necessary. I speak perfect English and don’t know what half these grammar terms mean. It’s not necessary to learn a language. The human brain learns through examples.
