   1 YEAR LATER STILL WAITING MOLESKINE DEVELOPER TO RESPOND ON ALL MY LOST INFORMATION!!!!!. I am so disappointed on the moleskine journey life planner team! It has been 1 YEAR since the new "journal" update launched and 1 YEAR of me unable to access all my information that took me 5 years to create and enter in Journey Life Planner app. I have been trying to retrieve my information for the past 1 YEAR and haven't been able to, there is clear response from your team regarding when I am going to be able to access all my information, I have been paying the premium version of this app since Summer 2020 and it's unacceptable and insane that now all my information cant be seen nor access on my endx This has been driving me insane because all my routines, finances, home expenses, expense reports, future goals, schedules, calendar, etc etc etg everything was entered in this app, and now i cant believe I am not getting any answers from the developer, nor information on future updates. All I get is 10% loading for hours, days and weeks, and nothing loads on the "Your Data from Journey" portion, it just doesnt work. I truly need help from someone or if there is an online database where I can just access all my information and download it to use in other apps that are more reliable. Please, please, please let me know at your earliest convenience, I would like to use all this information to reorganize myself for the upcoming year, I have been I have lost so much important information entered in your app and the least you can do for a customer that has been loyal for 5 years, is give me my information back or allow me to retrieve it.

   Lost all my journal activity. I’ve been using and paying since 2022. Just opened the app for the first time in a few months and everything is gone. Great. The catharsis of writing about my dog passing away is lost. Thanks Molskine, I won’t be renewing

   Someone ruined the app. This used to be my go to app for taking notes. Now it’s incredibly difficult to use. I spent so much time learning how to used the previous version. Poor decision.

   Very poor re-design strategy. I was really happy with the app until the recent changes. Change itself isn’t bad, but the way this was handled felt like a letdown… no announcement, no notifications and no option to return to the previous version. As a paying user, this came across as very disappointing and even disrespectful. All my lists are now gone and I can’t find a way to recover them. From what I see here, I’m not alone as many other users are having the same issue. The fact that nothing has been done to help us speaks volumes about the management. It’s sad to say, but I think it’s time for us to move on and look for a brand that actually values and supports its customers.

   Theft. Seriously? I’ve been a premium user of Moleskine Journey for several years. Tonight I found it replaced by an entirely different app. Not even an updated planner app. A journal app. I want my money back.

   Ruined a great app, bring back Journey!. They took a great app, journey, and completely ruined it by turning it into another run of the mill journaling app. The beauty of journey was that it combined journals, lists, todos in a way that you could manage to mirror your life. Not any more. No way to export my old data except to a worthless pdf. And then the gall to send me a welcome email asking for feedback and comments from a “no reply” address. Clueless developers. They keep telling us that they’re “aware of our concerns” but they obviously don’t because if they did they’d bring back journeys. Never got a refund for buying a year if an app that was immediately switched for a piece of junk.

   This app is garbage. This app is garbage compared to Journey. Why Moleskin wanted to stab its subscribers in the back is a true mystery. What a way to destroy any goodwill for your brand.

   BRING BACK JOURNEY. Journey was the perfect note taking app, easy to navigate, straight forward, no frills. that’s what i wanted, that’s what i paid for. Now that i updated it it’s just a journal app that won’t let me access my old account or notes! Currently shopping for other note taking/ task planner apps.

   Replaced functional daily planner with basic journal that was not what I paid for.. One day the Journey app, which was very pretty and intuitive and had projects, todos and journal was replaced by the Moleskine Journal app, which is basic, less intuitive and less aesthetically pleasing than Journey. It has a prettier logo, but that’s about the only improvement I can see. I assume that they did this so people would have to subscribe to their useless suite of productivity apps instead of having an integrated app that was less expensive. I paid for a specific product and got something else.

    New update from Journey to Journal - what happened?. Journey was beautiful and a pleasure to use - every time I opened it, I was reminded of the quality and style of the Moleskine brand. Journal is not attractive at all and using is it clunky. It feels unfinished, it is difficult to understand how to use, and I don’t understand why the decision was made to turn the beautiful Journey app into this awful mess (sorry).

    Used to be original and customizable. I’m really disappointed in the changes to this app. It used to be super customizable and personal where you could create your own routines with questions, check lists, metrics, multiple choice, etc. All customizable options have been taken away and it’s just a glorified calendar now. I used to use this to help me plan out and set intention for each day but now it’s of no use to me.

    Moleskine Journey was sublime, Journal is garbage. Why Moleskine would completely ruin a paid app that worked perfectly well and was seamlessly integrated in a sophisticated intuitive way, and force its users to know use multiple ugly clunky apps to accomplish the same thing is beyond me. I want my money back. I didn’t pay for these hideous abortions.

    May 2025 Update is Devastating. I’m am absolutely devastated. I journaled and habit tracked in Journey for 4 years straight. The update is a completely new app, blowing away all my data from the last 4 years. I can export my old data to a PDF but since it’s 4 years of DAILY entries it’s not working to export. I am actually crying I can’t believe it’s gone. You cannot set up the app even remotely close to how it was and now it has a bunch of useless stuff and became just like any other app on the App Store. Once I get my data, if I can, I’m canceling. I’m completely devastated. Journey WAS the best app for reflection and personal growth on the market and now it’s gone. I’m beyond heart broken. If anyone from support can help me get my old data please, I’m begging you. I can’t find a support email anywhere.

    Bamboozled. Recently purchased Journey app to coexist with the Planner app. This new Moleskine Journal app is not what I paid for nor what I wanted. The export feature from my Journey account doesn’t work. Allows me to print, not export. So, now I don’t have access to any of my custom journals or tasks. Setttings do show that I have several journals, no mention of projects and of course no way of contacting corporate other than a one way email. So I am now paying for a year’s subscription for an app I will mostly never use. The journaling was really an extra for me. It was more about organizing activities, projects and routines. Maybe, working into journaling so, again not what I ordered and not what I paid for

    Bad update- generic journaling app. App was good as a habit and project tracker, I was using it as a “get my life together” tool and it had the functions I needed. Then they changed the entire functionality of the app by changing to from Journey to Journal and it’s useless to me. There are so many other journaling apps out there and this one stood out. I got a refund because I was no longer getting what I paid for.

    Latest update completely changed this app - for the worse.. I started using this app years ago when it was Journey. Over the last several years, I’ve seen its functionality get nerfed and this finally killed it for me. Imagine my frustration trying to open the app I had all my work projects in (during a meeting) only to discover that the latest update had changed it to a completely different app which no longer supported the “Projects” feature. I had to install a completely separate app (Moleskine Planner) to be able to access my data. This isn’t even kind of the same app I downloaded and have been using for the last five years. If you want to make a new app, then make a new app. Don’t strip away all the functionality your customers were PAYING FOR and call it an update. Guess I’m switching to Milanote.

    New Update Ruined It. This new update is horrific. I’ve paid for premium for months and just cancelled it today. It’s not even the same app anymore, doesn’t have any of the same features that it used to. Where is my calendar?? Where is my ability to make a to-do list? Genuinely just absolutely awful now.

    Took away my lists and features mid annual subscription. Thus was my main note list tracker app so i did the annual plan, then they take away what I’ve paid for so they can break up all good features across five apps to sell them separately and leave my subscription on the plan journal, then least interesting feature i wasn’t hardly using….robbery

    Wow. Look at how they massacred my boy. I had 7 business projects thru the projects feature. Tried to import them to the planner app. Issa no go. Way to blow it y’all, and a very genuine thank you for saving me $30/yr.

    BYE BYE TO DO LIST. I have been a subscriber to the moleskin app family for YEARS since it was Moleskin Timepage (and free). It used to be a few different apps with different purposes, then they moved it all to one app. I still used it for all my daily reminders/ tasks. NOW!? ITS LITERALLY JUST A GLORIFFIED NOTES APP LIKE APPLE RELEASED THIS ALREADY AND NO ONE USED IT. I had important stuff written in the “Projects” tab of the app and its all GONE. WITHOUT NOTICE. RIDICULOUS.

    Time, energy & effort gone?. I’ve used this app for over a year & spent so much time curating it & personalizing it (as the app encouraged) only for all my information & data to disappear overnight & be replaced with a clunkier version of this app. It would be one thing to change the format but to clear my history & all the hours & intention I put into it is not only upsetting but disappointing. This new version feels like a regressed prototype of what the app was intended to be. What’s the point in “tracking progress” on this app if you’re just going to wipe it out anytime you feel like it. I have so much information, progress & data on the previous version that I hope can be salvaged & if not I honestly don’t know what I’ll do. I’m praying they fix this but if you still see this review up I’m afraid it’s not worth the money nor the headache. Save yourself for an app that at least offers consistency & security for the data you input.

    Inferior and wholly different than Journey. This isn’t a “reimagined” Journey app. This is a plain journal app stripped of all the wonderful features of Journey. I used Journey daily to plan out and keep track of my entire life and plan for the future. With zero warning Journey disappears. All my notes across all notebooks GONE. I used these notebooks exclusively to take stock of my yearly accomplishments. Now halfway thru the year I have nothing to reference. I’m truly astounded at this move. This isn’t an app update. This is a foundational shift that destroyed my information and my trust and respect for this company. Shame on you Moleskine for this.

    Ruined by update. ALL PAST REVIEWS ARE FOR AN APP THAT DOESNT EXIST ANYMORE Sudden update with no warning completely destroyed everything good about the app, my journaling and organization system for my business and replaced it with something I can’t use. Basically just a worse version of apples journal now. I couldn’t spew enough venom at whoever did this.

    From Useful to Frustrating — A Major Step Back. I'm really not sure what the purpose of this new update was. It doesn’t feel like an upgrade—it feels like a completely different app. This goes way beyond a UI redesign: core functionality has been removed, new features have been added that don’t add value, and the overall experience has changed dramatically. If the changes were going to be this extreme, it honestly would’ve made more sense to launch a separate app instead of replacing the one users were already invested in. The old app kept everything well-organized and functional. It was clean, reliable, and easy to use for journaling, calendar tracking, habit monitoring, and capturing random thoughts. Now, it's all over the place. The new layout is chaotic, disorganized, and cluttered with things like unnecessary “daily picture covers” that just take up space without contributing anything useful. Worse still, many essential features are gone. There's no way to sync old data, so everything I wrote and tracked before is now lost. Habit tracking is missing, and my journal history is nowhere to be found. I paid for a subscription with the expectation that I was investing in a long-term, stable tool—what I got instead is a flashy redesign that abandoned the core reasons I used the app in the first place. On top of that, the app forces you into dark mode with no option to change themes. There's zero customization, which is especially frustrating considering how polished and user-friendly the old version was. Overall, the app now feels more like a design experiment than a functional productivity tool. It's focused on trends and aesthetics instead of reliability and substance. Longtime users deserve better than this.

    Terrible update. This latest update completely ruined the app. I’ve been using Journey for YEARS, and woke up to a completely different app this morning. All my habits, journals, and projects just gone overnight. So disappointing, especially after paying $30+ a year. I will be cancelling my subscription immediately.

    Stay Away!. Downloaded the app, within the app they offered a 7 day free trial period. I accepted and was immediately charged for the annual bundle. I’ve messaged support about this multiple times and no response. The apps aren’t even that polished and need a lot more work then just a rename from Journey to Journal. If you don’t want to be robbed, I suggest you stay away from these developers.

    I too desperately want Journey back. I’ve been using journey for years. I’m logged in on the correct account, all of my journals are gone along with all of my notes and data. Even if they weren’t all gone now there’s no way to search keywords to quickly find the exact note I’m looking for. I miss my custom theme, I don’t like the new background. I’m overall incredibly disappointed.
