   Crashing app, reinstall problems. I have been using the detox app for a month or so, having paid for a year. It worked great and was very helpful. Then one day it just kept crashing over and over, not letting me into my social media that I had it limiting time on. I deleted the app, reloaded it, then it refused to recognize me, wanting to charge me for another year. There was no place to sign in. This is a racket… and the new yearly fee went from $40 up to $55. Yep. Just no.

   App is Down. As of 9/10/25, the app is down and showcases a black screen before immediately exiting. I can't open any of my apps because the app will not open (despite me reseting my phone numerous times), but I don't want to delete the app as the payment is annual/no refund.

   I have to pay??. This app sounded amazing at first and its original analysis was spot on and I was thinking this is perfect for me! Then bam— it hits me with a paywall. Like what?? This is so out of the blue it makes me want to spend even more time doomscrolling😭

   Wasted my time. After making me take a 5 minute survey and pretending to give me “personalised” results, it prompted me to pay with no option for a free tier. It’s disingenuous and outright disgusting to present yourself as a time saving app while simultaneously wasting my time the moment I open the app. Prompt the user with how much the app will cost the second they open the app, not a moment later.

   Look, it’s a good idea, but…. Listen. I got this app because I felt like “hey I can work on my scrolling,” until I found out that it costs money? It tells me all these statistics about me relating to my time on the phone. But at the same time, why do I need to spend money to work on my screen time. The morality of it is a bit, twisted. It’s such a good concept, and it’s now being slapped with a dollar sign. It’s just a bit disappointing.

   cool idea?. This idea is a good idea for an app, unfortunately I didn’t get to use it because it costs money to use the app. Seriously, why would I download this app when it costs me less to scroll on instagram on my own. The idea is useful in theory however in practice it’s just another way to add a subscription service to your never ending list of purchases. I know it has very low cost in short term but i’d rather mediate my screen time myself than waste money using an app that is going to simply restrict my phone more. I think its even funnier how they make you complete an “oath” to lowering your screen time to manipulate you into a commitment before telling you that it costs money so you’re like “well I already made the oath and it’s only a few dollars”

   Advertising Scam. When you advertise a free app, you should make sure that you also advertise you have to pay for a subscription to use it at all!

    Terrible. Absolutely useless, I paid for the app and everything and when I opened it back again, it said that I needed to renew my payment or downgrade to free use.

    What the heck!. Well I did love the app. I went through the App Store and looked for a screen time app that didn’t have in app purchases. It seemed crazy to pay someone to make me use my phone less. This was my favorite app I had found. Then they completely changed the way it worked and added the thing I hate most! In app purchases!! :( oh well, guess I’m going to have to delete and look for a different solution.

    I rated too soon. I previously gave it a 4 star thinking it doesn’t force you to pay, but like all these other apps, it is psychologically manipulative and it makes you pay. How horrible!

    Great Concept, Poor Execution. I love the idea of this app, I really do. But the fact they make you pay for it really doesn’t sit right with me = I (and also makes the app seriously inaccessible). When I saw an instagram add for it, I was under the impression it was free. It seems I was misled, so here’s my heads up to anybody who also came from there.

    Could use one additional feature. I love this app and it has greatly reduced my screen time, unlike the screen time limits on iPhone which are easy to ignore. My only wish is that there was an option to set a block schedule. Like if I want to be able to block all social media apps from 8pm-6am, for example. The "Timer Block" and "Block until Tomorrow" are almostttt helpful. But I have to actively select those, as opposed to something that blocks automatically and gives me no choice but to stop scrolling and put my phone down.

    Name change?. I got this when it was just called filos and all of a sudden the same and icon has changed. I almost deleted the app cause I thought it was a waste of time! But other than that this app is amazing. It limits my doomscrolling to however long I allow (40min) and then I have more time for more important things 💕good things to say, only wish they would have warned of the name change.

    Very minimalistic and easy to use. At the end of the day you’re the only person who can make yourself follow any “app blocker” but Detox makes everything very simple and easy. I do like the monitoring function and it has helped me a lot. Price point is great too!

    Great App. This is the best screen management app I’ve ever used. I used to be on my phone anywhere from 6-8 hours a day and with this app I was able to cut my time down to 1-2.5 hours a day. It’s really helped me break away from my phone. I wish there was an android version for my SO.

    This app is a must.. I downloaded this app with the intent of saving time where I could, but I got so much more. The app does exactly what you need it to with countless customizations of how much it blocks, and even if there is a shortcoming, I can say from personal experience that the dev team is a pleasure to chat with, and will do whatever they can to help. In my opinion, this app is a MUST to download, and the cost is well worth the time saved.

    This app is great!!. I’m normally too strong for screen time apps (i’ll overpass the blocks and delete the restrictions) but this app is perfect for me. Not letting me scroll for a five minute break is the perfect amount of time to stop what i’m doing and get off my phone. Highly recommend!!!

Cumple bien su función y es gratuita (excepto algunas opciones extra), me encanta la idea de que Lumi cambie de apariencia segun cuanto tiempo estuve en pantalla.     Social Media Cleanse :D. HONESTLY, if you’re looking for a real review: here it is. social media was driving me INSANE, to the point that my mental health was drastically declining. :/ as a person with a social media following, i so badly wanted to fix this problem. but the biggest problem was… i was still addicted. i started looking for a solution to maybe help me lessen the time i spent scrolling through pointless posts & figured i would give some screen-time-reducing / screen-time-control (whatever you might call them) apps a try. there are other apps out there on the market with similar features, but FILOS by far tops all of them. i am a girl who loves to procrastinate & i sometimes allow myself leniency when it comes to things like the time i spend on my phone. however, Filos makes sure that after I set a goal in the morning, I fulfill that goal. & that was actually exactly what i didn’t know i needed. it was a biiigggg struggle at first tbh but day by day, staying off of my phone became a lot easier. as i continue to make my relationship with social media healthy again, i know i can count on this hardworking lil app to be there every step of the way (& every single day :D ) ALSO— i think it’s super cool that the founders of the app are college-level young. It makes it so easy to communicate or ask questions. & i just found out they have tiktok & instagram reels which i think are very entertaining & REAL. it makes me appreciate this app even more on a relatable level. :)

    The best social media blocker. I had a big problem with my screen time. I was constantly scrolling through reels on instagram and tweets on X. I found other cool solutions out there that had different ways to block my phone. What was nice with Filos though is that it didn’t offer me many different blocking solutions but rather suggested the best one. It’s anti-doomscrolling feature is really effective. I am seriously considering getting the premium version
