   Awful doesn’t work and no support email. The functionality of the app doesn’t work. I can’t make anything complete which defeats the entire purpose. To boot - I find it so unprofessional to distinctly not have a help or support section. I have no choice but to delete it because it’s broken and no one wants to talk to me.

   Rate hike 35%. We have never had a claim, have not done anything different and we are right across the street from the city s best water source! Without any explanation our rates just went up 35%. Very unhappy!

   App just wants to sell you products. I know nothing is free, but this app is terrible when it comes to home maintenance suggestions. Suggestions just direct you to buying their partner products like home security systems and moisture sensors.

   Awful. I never was able to log into my account which is just another inconvenience to the long list of having hippo insurance. IMO hippo is a scam and if you don’t have them yet avoid them. They took our annual automatic escrow payment then immediately canceled our insurance and are now claiming the payment was 5 days late and want us to have a whole new contract for of course more money instead of just the annual renewal.

   Worst insurance. I recently closed on my home they told me hippo was good and all forward 3 months later they decide to cancel my policy out of nowhere and just give me 3 days notice which gives me no time at all to look for another policy wouldn’t recommend so unprofessional!!!!!!

   Bad. have no problems with the app. I am a client of hippo insurance, my roof was damaged and I filed a claim and they came to check, they told me that the cost of the damage is 2,500 dollars but that I have to pay for it because the damage is less than my deductible of $10,250 dollars. They are abusive. I have been with them for 4 years and I have never claimed anything and now they come up with this. please look for another insurance that is not HIPPO

    Worst Experience Ever. I had hippo home insurance for years. Since I sold my home, I wanted to cancel the insurance policy. I called hippo to notify my cancellation. However they charged for another year after I notified the cancellation of my home insurance policy. Now they need proof that I sold my property. After I sent several documents, they still need some other documents. This is SO Ridiculous!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Can I just get my money? I DO NOT HAVE THE PROPERTY ANYMORE!!!!!!!!!

    Goose chase. App is just an glorified web client built to collect your data. Anything other than basic info it just opens the webpage which tells me it’s better in the app. That’s a bald faced lie. Collects all my info and then tells me I have to call. I did. I called Lemonade.

    Hippo app. App hasn’t worked for me since i got the insurance! Always says we’re experiencing some turbulence and they are working on it but it’s been months and still doesn’t work.

    Good to bad experience in 6 weeks. I rarely take the time to leave a review but this experience warranted one. I recently purchased a home and researched some new home insurance options. I used Statefarm before and while they were great, it felt a little outdated from a technology standpoint. I came across Hippo and was impressed with the speed and ease of use. I filled out the east online application including the question of “has your policy been cancelled by another insurer?” My answer was “no” because I just purchased the home. So we started the policy at a very reasonable price and they had an inspector come out a couple weeks later to walk around the outside of the home. 3-4 weeks after that I received a notice from Hippo saying that they’re canceling my policy effective 2 weeks from now with a very vague explanation. I called Hippo to ask what was going on. Explained the situation and then they transferred me to another department where I had to explain my situation again. The person told me that the reason for the cancellation was that the inspector found a few shingles missing on the detached “in-law suite” and that’s the reason for the cancellation. I explained that it’s a detached garage / shed and not an in-law suite and that there are no shingles missing. The person told me that there’s nothing they can do to reverse the decision and I’d need to seek a different insurer. I then said, “so you agreed to coverage based on my application and now I need to go to another insurer and answer “yes” to the question of whether or not my policy has been cancelled by another insurer?” The person said yes and that was that. I reached out to a local insurance company and explained the situation and they were very helpful. While more expensive, they turned around a policy the next day and also told me they’d never cancel my policy without having a conversation with me first. I thought I’d given a new company a try but this experience made me realize the value of a local company who take customer service seriously. I’d give Hippo one star but the online experience warrants a second star. Lastly, while they showcase all their positive reviews in their website, there’s no ability to leave a review once your policy is cancelled. Luckily the App Store allows it.

    Just ok. Doesn’t handle a house with multiple HVAC‘s or water heaters. Didn’t recognize a tankless water heater either. Hoping it would be a little more configure to be able to choose and add things more simply.

    Renewing my insurance. I bought a mobile home last year they gave me a policy for $400 a year. My renewal they told me $717 a year without saying ok they charge my account. I tried to file a claim they said no. State Farm told me $1,050 a year.

    Good. The app is good, the additions are great to better keep track of maintenance and repairs. However, the insurance tab should actually show the policy. Hippos been great, the best price for me definitely

    Unnecessary notifications. Overall is ok app but I keep getting notifications about maintenance tasks. I have disabled some of them one by one that I don’t wanna be notified but I still get notifications for the other ones. I wish there was a setting to never ever notify me about maintenance tasks. I’m just going to delete the app since the notifications are annoying. I just need to see my home insurance once a year which for that I can just use website.
