   Mediocre at best. What it calls a 'chapter' most normal people would call 'five paragraphs.' For something that charges based on chapters generated, that's unacceptable. Maybe it gets better when someone pays for the chapters rather than uses the free trial, but first impressions matter, and my impression was that even the free tiers of grok, chatgpt, and claude are orders of magnitude better than this. :(

   So disappointed. I had this game for so long. I wrote so many books, sequels, and I put all my effort into every one. It was an awesome app. But then the age rating changed from 12+ to 17+, and now I can’t play it. All my hard work and progress, just like that it was gone. So disappointed.

   Bugs or issues. It maxes out the amount of chapters you can have and after a certain amount of chapters when you have it in book mode, it says we’re sorry won’t let you put more information or start any other books

   Fraud. I downloaded this app because I like creative writing. While the app was enjoyable, being charged every two weeks for purchases I did not make on the app were not so enjoyable. Even after I deleted the app I was still being charged. Every two weeks. Totaling around $150 in charges for an app not worth 2cents . This review is for anyone who is using this app. You will see a charge on your debit or credit card from Aiceberg Labs.

   Don’t bother. Every time I have tried to use this thing, no matter what the story is about, no matter if I’m asking for the first chapter of a story or an 8 line poem, I get “Request failed due to token failure. Please try again”. better luck with the next one

   AI $ucks. If you’re using AI to write, I hate to break it to you but you don’t really want to write. And if you’re a reader and you’re going to an AI app instead of an actual human artist then… what are you doing? As an avid reader, sometimes multiple books in a week, I can promise you that you can find what you are looking for. There are FREE library apps where you can access almost any book and a ton of amateur writing websites, like wattpad, to find pretty much anything to read and get real readers’ feed back on your writing if you want. This app does basics I guess but you definitely have to do a Bunch of edits to make it work. If you want to write, then you should! My writing teacher always used to say, “you can’t get good unless you let yourself be bad.” You obviously have ideas that you want to bring to life if you’re here so give it a real shot! This is what makes us human, don’t let them take it from us.

    Give people a chance to actually try out your app!. Please for the love of God dear creators of this app, give people who try out this app for the first time before purchasing anything with real world money in order to see if they like this app at most ten credits because a mere five chapter novel most likely won't be enough to see if they like this app because they won't be able to see how their novel ends or whatever have you. I seriously wish that you hadn't of messed around with the credit thing now!🤦🏼‍♀️ EDIT: so, you guys have decided NOT to listen to me or any of the people who have created reviews after I did when we have constantly asked for more than 5 measly free credits and you creators of (this very wonderful app mind you) have the gall to cry, whine and complain about 1-3 star ratings of your app here. WOW. Just WOW.🤦🏼‍♀️ How about you guys actually LISTEN to what your users want for a change. How about THAT?

    So bad. It gets worse every time I attempt to course correct. Ignores direction but if it does change what you ask it includes the instruction. Like if I write include more tension it delivered "there is more there is more tension than before." Even when instructed to change one thing I'll cut everything that came before or condense it to a single paragraph

    Horrible AI writer. It will completely change what you write and you have to edit every single chapter back to follow your story. By the 3rd chapter it’s like it forgets everything from chapter one which means even more editing. It will add in random characters and situations that don’t remotely flow together. You can build characters in them but if you choose an archaic tone for the character it’s gonna mention archaic almost every time that character speaks(jack said in an archaic tone). You can’t add any type of world building. This app is garbage I paid for a year and only used for a week it’s to much of a headache. Stick with chat gpt and use prompts to get what you want.

    No. I signed up for a free trial for this app. It asked me to sign into my Apple ID; once signed in, it said “purchase complete” and I was immediately charged $13. I’ve had to jump through hoops for a refund. I reached out to tech support and was told, “Oh, the free trial is only if you choose the yearly subscription.” But that wasn’t an option, I was just charged. Their response: “Oh well we warn you you will be charged immediately.” For a free trial?? I still haven’t received my refund but I did try out the app, and it’s a joke. It’s like using mad libs to create a story. There’s no structure or intelligent flow. It just randomly inputs the character and plot data. Awful experience.

    Premium. The app just went pay per story. I’m not paying for a service that I enjoyed for free, especially since they added no new features to make up for the 60 dollar a year annual charge. I will be switching to one of the many free competitors of similar quality

    Charged $14.99 even though it promises a free trial. You can’t try out Author AI without signing up for a free trial, but as soon as I did, my card was charged for the full price of $14.99. Very frustrating as I did not want to commit to keeping this app until I had tried it out. Update: I give it 1 star now because it’s not clear the free trial is only for a yearly subscription. That’s poor ethics. You’re hoping people won’t cancel their subscription before the trial date ends and get charged for an entire year. I would not recommend this app to anyone.

    Charged With No Free Trial. I can’t really speak for the app itself. I downloaded it to try out and was offered a 7 day free trial. Sure, that works for me. That gives me time to see what I think before spending the $80 they wanted. I got charged right away. Now I’m in the process of trying to get a refund for something I was only wanting to try. I did not intend to spend that much money on something I’ve never used before.

    Doesn’t Work. I have tried about 20 times to right any type of novel and when I hit submit for the first chapter it says it cannot complete it. I have even had chat gpt write up the exact format for the app and plug in where it says and it still doesn’t work. I reached out to the app and they have not helped.

    Do not waste your money. I had high hopes for this app. However, it’s a piece of junk. It does not follow instructions precisely on the synopsis you leave. Then on when it wrote, there’s no way to edit it. You’re just stuck. I go off and edit it myself and come in for another chapter. Know or anything. This is not artificial intelligence. This is artificial stupidity.. is so limited and so in and on top of that, there’s no way to increase the size of the fonts where. When you’re older, your eyesight goes away. They don’t give you a chance to make a dark screen so it’s easier to read or anything. time I. What a pitiful app if I could give it a -5 stars I would don’t waste your money.

    Didn’t save. I started creating and I had to momentarily leave the app. I’m a busy mom. I created a character and put a lot of thought into her description and my work is just gone. Be sure to save unfinished projects yourself! I just wasted time and I don’t have time to waste.

    So many problems. First I had to log out to verify my account. Now I can’t log in. And I can’t stop my subscription. This thing is just awful. And that is just some of many problems with it. Also there is no way to download your story unless you have a Mac.

    Don't waste your time. It used to be that you got like 20 credits and you used one credit per chapter and now that I have the app I see that not only did you get 2 credits, those two credits are for one chapter. You only get two chapters out of the story before there are no more chapters and credits. Why can't it go back to the old version? FIX THIS PROBLEM
