Overrated. Clunky interface and bit annoying to use. Cancelled in <1 month but still have to ride out billing. Much better apps out there with less friction.

Fix the Music Bug. My music either shuts off when using your app, or it runs at low volume. Do not respond to this review with a (we’d love to help—please message us). You can “help” by fixing the issue. It’s not a user issue either—it’s a bug you’ve previously acknowledged in multiple online spaces and still haven’t fixed. I’m giving it a month before I cancel my subscription.

Terrible refund and cancellation process. Links don’t work, customer service is a bot that sends you in loops of entering codes, links, etc. Free trial more of hassle don’t waste your time and money.
- ★★★★★inaccurate results and incorrect data
Impossible to cancel and no customer service. Just a horrible experience. My initial email is incorrect and they wouldn’t let me change it in app terrible user face. No customer service. Please someone from Runna help me cancel!

One month not being able to sync workouts. I’ve been using Runna for some time now and syncing workouts to Strava. Since May 19, my workouts haven’t been recording routes, cadence and other analytics. Also, I haven’t been able to sync anything to Strava. I contacted the tech team and been passed on to 4 different people. I’ve been explaining to each one that I tried EVERYTHING the troubleshooting guide has indicated. Everything is toggled on, same account, disconnected and reconnected etc. and I’m still having the issue. I understand they have a massive volume of cases and try to be patience but I’ve been waiting for this issue to be fixed for a month now and just been passed down to different techs that are suggesting things that I already have tried. Hopefully, this bug can be fixed because I really like the app and just don’t want to stop using it.
- ★★★★★crashes, freezes and errors
Glitchy. It’s obvious this app is updated without QA testing. Every update includes a tech glitch. The latest version has a bug that broke voice notifications. The dev team should do better.
- ★★★★★subscription and paid restrictions
Impossible to cancel subscription with anonymous email. They make it so hard to cancel. Shady and should not be allowed

Farther not Further!!!. Please correct the word choice on the “Run ‘Farther’” plan!! It’s embarrassing that a running app confused these two words! It makes me wonder about your credibility.

Runna is Greedy. I’ve had Runna since May 2025 and it was great all until their most recent force update that removed the free New to Running/Back into Running program. Why did Runna have to be greedy and charge for those now? Also, when I did the first two weeks for the New to Running program, it’s way tougher than the previous programs. You’re going to injure new runners.

Mediocre for Advanced Runners. Customization options for more advanced runners are not there. Watch app scrolls through predefined screens which really sucks when you want to check your pace and it’s decided to show you heart rate instead. Pacing is bizarre, for my target race it set goals way too aggressively. Compared to plans from Hansens, Higdon or some others, it’s just meh. Also overcharged me and dispute process was all just automated loops and now I’m stuck and can’t get a refund. Unfortunately stuck for a year payment with them, will not renew another cycle. Better off buying a few books from the top tier plans. Also, the AI features are basically useless. You could copy and paste your run into Gemini and it would spit out the same thing. Also paying for Strava premium, you would think it would combine into one unified app.

Horrible customer service. I was charged for an annual subscription that I did not want. This app makes it difficult to reach out to customer service. Support and FAQ pages made it difficult to see where my subscription was to cancelled, even though I didn’t agree or realize that I signed up They are still giving me issues getting my refund, forcing me to open. A dispute with my card

In Europe and in the UK you get more free plans. They are milking American users out of their money. Absolutely disgusting. I would totally buy the app but I want to actually get back into running without pain before committing to $$$$$. In the past the return to running plan was free to use. A few weeks ago this changed for users in the US. But not in Europe or the UK.
- ★★★★★cross-device sync is unreliable
Prepare to be let down…. Runna completely failed me today. I tracked a 4‑mile run via the app on my Apple Watch, but because it wasn’t part of my plan and tracked as a “Free Run”, it didn’t save to my plan and can’t be imported into Strava. The run shows correctly in Apple Health, but Runna won’t sync it and Strava can’t pull it in either, so it’s like the workout never happened. I tried contacting support, but even though my app language is set to English (US), the entire support section only shows up in Spanish. After multiple sync issues and extra barriers to get help, I’m extremely frustrated and disappointed with the app’s design. Would not recommend.

Used to be great, but…. Ever since they sold to Strava the updates keep making things worse. Spring intervals as an open lap? If I wanted to have to stare at my watch to track intervals I wouldn’t need the app. Now it’s forcing me to sync with Apple Health data, no way to permanently decline so I keep getting pinged throughout my workout, therefore I have cancelled my subscription.

Fix the music issue. I do love Runna and the new to running plan has been a game changer for me BUT recently the app has become absolutely unusable because it lowers my music volume whenever I’m actively running. Even when cues aren’t being given I can barely hear my music. Then, when I close the app or end the run, it returns to full volume. I’ve had to start completing runs without the app because of this. Please fix!

Trial Failure. I went to the website to sign up because of Shervin who said I’d get a 2 week trial. I answered too many questions and wasted my time just to be offered 7 days. Well I’m not running today so you’re giving me 6 days and I can’t run everyday. Signed up on website and deleted app without even opening it. 7 day trial won’t give me a good idea if it’s worth $120 a year. And tbh Strava & Runna should be 1 app but greedy developers smh.

Bad training plans. This ai training plan is a fraud. Works really badly, do not recommend

Buggy app. I’ve used Runna for nearly two years and love the training plans, but I’m unlikely to renew this year due to a frustrating, unusable app experience. The main issue is a severe audio bug: whenever I track a run while playing music, the app forces my music volume down to a whisper, even at 100%. When an audio cue plays, it blasts the voice notification at full volume, followed by a brief second of blaring music, before dropping back down to barely audible. Force-closing the app temporarily resets the volume, but it immediately drops again upon reopening. Furthermore, force-closing during a run loses your lap progress and ruins the workout tracking. I love the coaching, but the app itself has become too buggy to run with. It feels like I’m paying a premium price for the app but not getting a premium product.

Total disappointment. It worked amazing for 2 weeks and then never again, I tried everything and the app wont open even after uninstalling and reinstalling.. luckily I only paid 1 month subscription! I Wrote asking for support and an AI responded that it understood my frustration for paying for a service I cant use… basically a response I cant use either. Never been so disappointed in my life for a purchase.

I use to love runna. A couple of days ago I delete the runna app(I wish I can go back intime to stop myself from doing this) a few minutes later I reinstalled the app. I signed in and everything was set back to my profile like nothing had changed. The next day I go for my schedule run and I start to notice the music volume cutting off and essentially being muffled. But I noticed that when ever I would pause the workout the voice that keeps track of your pace would get louder and music would lower. The music would try to go back to the volume set but it couldn’t almost like something is holding it back. I have spend many hours daily troubleshooting this problem. I got in touch with runna and basically told me to do what I had already tried and that’s to sync my headphones to the watch instead of the phone. Which to me is a big NO. I like to switch between 3 different playlist and when you sync your headphones to your watch you have no control on your phone and you can’t hear the pace cues. Also we’re in 2026 where technology should make things easier not harder. Like why would I want to play my music from my tiny watch screen when I have a phone and should be able to do so in my phone. Prior to me deleting the app I NEVER had this issue before but when I reinstalled it is when the issue started. Runna is saying is an Apple Watch issue but I tested that theory and that is false. I deleted the app from my watch and disabled any sync options I even turned off my watch like completely off. I started a workout and the problem persisted. I told runna to own the problem and fix the app. I payed a year ahead membership, I’ve been using the app for 7 months and never had this issue till now that i reinstalled the app, I also have a half marathon im training for and as much as i would love to be one of those people that dont need music to run I AM NOT. I really hope they can fix this problem asap if not i would like to get a refund for my remaining membership and I will have to find another app to train with. I’m sure Runna wont care bc they are popular right now but if they continue this bad app updates eventually they will not be as popular. There’s always someone new on the block

Horrible Update. You now have to pay for running plans. However, this used to be free since I’ve been using the app. I will be deleting my account and finding a better alternative. Do better Runna and stop getting greedy.

Overpriced for its use. The app is really difficult to use and constantly requires changes to the settings or uninstall to fix bugs. Creating a plan for you is nice but it’s clearly just AI generated. There’s no customization, no feedback on how to improve or avoid burnout. You can leave private feedback but it doesn’t impact anything. If this app was $5-10 a month it would be fine. But $20 a month for some ChatGPT schedule is insane It’s wild that for all the planning and coaching I can’t edit a workout!!! I do a lot of treadmill runs in the winter and the app is always off from the machine, yet after a workout I can’t edit the distance. And trying to edit the speed during the run is a nightmare. Why is the strength training plans always supersets?? Let me edit to the lifts I want to do on the days I want to do it, not everything needs to be a superset. And maybe I want to do chest on Tuesdays instead of full body Really disappointed in the lack of customization and ability to edit

Good..but. Consistently doesn’t sync with Apple Watch. And I mean every other day I use. To the point I don’t want to. Don’t know how many workout data is lost because of it.
- ★★★★★negative experience without a specific reason· unspecific
Does not work with Apple Watch. This app is a disaster if you use an Apple Watch. It doesn’t sync properly not matter which way I try, and will end up messing up all of your stats.
- ★★★★★slow performance and long loading times
Not beginner friendly. The app that I downloaded to try to make me faster has a limitation on how SLOW one can be. I run suuuuper slow, I’m a beginner and I don’t want to get injured. I just completed my first 10k, but it was over 2hrs 5min which is their limit on how slow someone can be to enter their training program. This is so exclusionary and disappointing. The whole point of this app was to work to get faster, and I’m not even fast enough to qualify to get started. That really sucks.
- ★★★★★subscription and paid restrictions
Used to be a Good App. I used to love this app. The app was functional without paying for it. Now the whole program is behind a paywall unless you subscribe. They won’t let you see anything past two weeks. For the price of a program, you would be better off upgrading your watch and getting one that can build you a program based off your fitness. I would love to see this app have a free version again much like Strava. I just can’t justify the price
- ★★★★★subscription and paid restrictions
Strava Sellout. Loved this app so much. Now that Strava bought it, you can’t use the running plans without paying $20/month. Running is supposed to be free and fun. Not a subscription service. Stop being greedy #everyonedeservestorun

upsell upsell upsell. you’re a running app, know your place

Watch app continues to be the Achilles heel. I want to love this app, but the Apple Watch app continues to be a huge let down. Incredibly unreliable, loses runs, runs with no data, no audio cues. Just a huge disappointment after many years of trying. 26.04.23: lost another run. “Thank you for running with Runna - we will now delete your data”. I’m furious!

Had High Hopes. LOTS of people love this app and I thought I would too. It has some great features and I’m sure if I used it for a few months I’d be stoked. BUT for me the robotic voice/prompts (in 2026 no less) was a real deal killer. I don’t need to be reminded that the robots are coming after all of us in the middle of my blissful training. But hey, maybe I’ll be able to outrun them! (Doubtful). Fix this and I’ll join the fold.
