Unusable. Could not register, so the app was unusable to me.

Loved ride Austin but they shut it down. Time to pull this app!. Ralston was great and fair for the drivers. Unfortunately Lyft, an Uber are taking so much of the profits. It’s not worthwhile for drivers anymore. Unfortunately with RideAustin gone there are no other options. Please remove the app from the App Store unless you’re starting up again

Unable to sign up - Oops 🙊. Like other reviewers stated, I was unable to sign up for my upcoming trip to Austin, TX. I tried with two email addresses and phone numbers and just get a dialogue that reads "Oops" (error 5.2.0) upon submission of my account details. I also tried resetting my password - thinking maybe the submissions were accepted. Nope - same "Oops" dialogue. Bummer. 😔 Thankfully, I’m a Lyft user and it looks like Lyft is available in Austin.

“Enable Booking Female Drivers” feature is sexist.. How about “ensure English-speaking drivers?”

Oops. Apps does not let me sign in or sign up. Just says oops
- ★★★★★crashes, freezes and errors
Sign up not possible. Extremely buggy unsupported app. I’m for their cause but Apple need to remove apps this unstable. Ref. Error 5.2.0 on signup, not corrected for more than 4 days.

Cannot create account to even try the app. Was hoping to use this for a ride to the airport but I cannot even sign up. After entering my info I get an error message along with the version of the app.

Can’t even use the app. There’s been an error message with the app for so long, why hasn’t it been fixed ?
- ★★★★★negative experience without a specific reason· unspecific
Can’t even create an account. Can’t even create an account to check it out. No matter how I try to create an account i get an error 5.2.0 I guess I get to take lyft and Uber while I’m in Austin
- ★★★★★pre-booking is really just a delayed search that falls apart
Horrible morning service. The driver arrival time is actually twice as long or more than the estimated arrival time. Your ride will get cancelled and the wait time starts all over again with no warning or reason. Driver estimated a 19 minute arrival, after 10 minutes he was still in the same spot at the airport and the wait time still said 19 min, and 19 minutes was not even a realistic time to begin with. This has happened more than once. I reported problems previously with unannounced cancellations and changes of drivers and wait times. Never heard back. Do not use this service if you need to be anywhere on time.

Overcharged. Charged me $30 on a $10 ride, and locked me out of the app saying I owed $15

Sent Male Driver in Female Driver Mode. Unbelievable. They charged me $5 twice to cancel the male drivers that they scheduled for my pick up while I was in female driver mode on app. They will not discuss this with me. Customer Support will not contact me. The reason I went to female driver mode is because of the last experience that I had with their male driver. Horrible! Scary!

Sadly, no longer reliable. RideAustin used to be great. I liked that it was a local coop, rather than a predatory corporation. But my last four rides have all had problems. Drivers claiming that they were waiting, when they weren’t. Drivers accepting the rides and then just not coming to pick me up. Drivers trying to up charge me. I’m done.

Drivers aren’t held accountable. Driver picked up my ride, then obviously abandoned it and started driving in the opposite direction. My options were to cancel and pay him 5$ or to use another ride app. Couldn’t rate driver as he didn’t pick me up.

DC Fails. When I use direct connect, the app erases the pickup and destination locations. For pickup it changes my entered location which had comments, and used gps, I think. One time gps was wrong and the pickup was several blocks away. For the destination, it is blanked out, entirely.

Total crap. Used to be good during the ‘shut down’ now it’s appallingly bad. Seriously, RideAustin is now a total joke.
- ★★★★★driver accepts the ride, then maneuvers the passenger into canceling first
Some drivers are scammers. I want to love Ride AUSTIN but so far only bad experiences. First try: waited for minutes & no driver assigned. Finally canceled ride & took a competitor. Second try: assigned driver “Dilli” in a black suburban with a 15 min eta appearing to come from a couple of miles south of me. Driver headed in opposite direction from my location, drove to airport (some 40 minutes from me) and sat there. I called. I texted. No response. I canceled the ride & contacted Ride Austin- so far no response. Found a Reddit thread saying this is a scam from drivers to collect the cancellation fee. I’m not impressed.

Garbage App. It's everything I look for in a ride share app, from changing my pickup location to arbitrarily cancelling my ride requests to incompetent drivers. Getting around has never been less convenient.

Charge. Do you charge to download this app?

Old charge. Really disappointed in the Ride Austin team. I used the Ride Austin app back in 2016. Was a little clunky because it was new, but it was the only option at that time. Fast forward to February of 2019 and I see a Ride Austin charge come through my bank account. I reach out to the Ride Austin asking them what gives. And they tell me I had a charge that did not go through back in 2016...yes 2016! I said I had three other charges go through at the same time after I reviewed with my bank, so how do I know this one didn't go through? They sent me a screen shot of their system showing it didn't go through. At this point its not even about the amount of the charge (it was pretty small), its the principal and business practice of charging someone from 2.5 years ago when you made the mistake and never reached out and explained the situation before running a charge that was sure to make me ask the question. At this point, you should have just let it go. When I come to Austin, I wont use Ride Austin

Double the price.. Rates doubled in price when Uber and Lyft were banned. They then sent me a large van to go 5 miles down the highway, charged $20. Ill practice, disappointed from the start. Have my used this app since.

App doesn’t work. Tried their service many times but the app doesn’t work at the airport, which is a problem when most of their rides (and all of mine) involve the airport!

Overpriced- uber is better. It’s flat out true.... really unfortunate that Austin has imposed the opposite of a free market solution to this industry. $14 for a 4 minute ride. OK.
- ★★★★★the final fare is higher than the price shown at booking
App does not show all fees of a trip. Unlike other TNC apps, Ride Austin does not include the ABIA Airport Fee in the price shown in the app. It is added to the cost after you agree to the final charge, and the increased amount is charged to your card.
- ★★★★★account bans or deletion without explanation
$90!!!! For a 10 min drive!!!!. I got a short 10 min ride and was not informed of the price until I checked my bank account. $90!!!!!! For a super short ride!!!! I was so upset, and a 20 something this is basically robbing me. NEVER AGAIN.

Bugs and crashes. Drivers are always so far away. Use Uber and a car is there in 1 minute

HORRIBLE. Horrible service. they switched me three times. second one was supposed to be here in 4 mins but ended up 10 mins so they switched. I will never use this service again. I switched back to lyft and got a ride in 1 min. Thank you LYFT.

Drunk driver pickup. When my driver pulled up he got out and said, “Give me 2 minutes to wake up. I was falling asleep on my ride here.” Then he got on the highway and considered lanes optional. He was swerving all over the place. I had him drop me on the side of the highway and called 911. Check your drivers ride Austin. Not just them though. Ride sharing in general is bottom of the barrel at this point. Any worth while drivers realized 5 years ago it’s a garbage job.
- ★★★★★the stated pickup time is a systematic lie
Couldn’t get picked up. Assigned a driver who was 5 minutes away. Driver started going in the opposite direction of me and I couldn’t cancel or else I’d have to pay $5 for nothing. After waiting for 30 minutes the driver finally cancelled the ride. Ended up downloading Lyft and was picked up in under 2 minutes.

Suspicious driver. Today, I ordered a ride Austin service to SXSW. When the car came, the drivers license plate was different from the one in the confirmation. I asked Driver four times why there was a difference. He refused to answer. If this is the kind of driver that right Austin uses, I have grave suspicions about the service.
