Didn’t synch. I tried this app but could not make it sync with my computer. The link email feature did not work, always showing an error message. No response from customer service.

No longer “free”. Loved this app because I could upload and create unlimited recipes, then categorize them. With a recent update, you now have to pay to see categories.

Doing too Much. This app was awesome at first now its just trying to take advantage of us. Like what’s the point of putting limits on how many categories you can have that so dumb why would I waste $34 for a app that was FREE and you could download recipes for free to now you have a yearly/monthly subscription to just organize your food recipes like are you serious like do you honestly sound sane at all and the crazy part is you forced it to only be 2 categories like why you already did the limited download a day why would you take the only other thing from the free version that makes your app actually likable. I don’t even use this app this much to even want to pay that much money in this economy. App will be deleted and I will not be downloading it again very disappointed on how you decided to navigate your app money hungry grimlin

Update wiped recipes. Recent update signed me out and also wiped all my recipes. I did not use the paid option. Recipes will not save when it updates.

Not worth it!. I initially loved this app, but out of nowhere I lost all of my recipes. I contacted support 3 separate times, and now - almost 2 months later - the only response I’ve received is that they’re “looking into it”. It’s been incredibly disappointing - I really thought this was the perfect app.

False Advertising. Super frustrating. All over the marketing for this app is “no premium tiers” “100% free”. And shocker, they now charge. If you are going to charge for an app, don’t promote that it is free and there are “No subscriptions, no ads, completely free forever”. The developers page literally advertises “Unlike other apps that charge $4.99-$9.99/month, Recipe Notes is completely free with no premium tiers, no hidden costs, and no ads. We believe everyone deserves great recipe management tools.” It’s $4.99/month for their premium tier. You can only get 2 sorting categories in free which is annoying cause there are three meals in a day so have fun with that. You also are limited on what you can import per day. Charge for your app, I don’t care, many apps do…just don’t false advertise and lie about it.

Update removes functionality. Basic functionality such as folders now locked behind subscription model. The app is currently not programmed well enough to be worth subscribing to. Time to find another app.

Disappointed. Really loved this app had it for a couple months, just updated it and turns out there’s a subscription fee to access all the feature that were once free. Really defeated the whole point of a recipes app

Terrible. This app never brings the whole recipe in. Something is either missing or it literally just brings through the link. Deleting this app

Not reliable. I get this app is free. But the stress of having to double check every recipe to make sure all the ingredients are correct. Importing from Facebook was terrible. It did ok on the ones from a photo or pdf. But I think I may pay the $4.99 a month for a different app. My time is worth more.

Changes the Recipe = Kitchen Disaster. I saved a recipe from my browser to this app and to another app (Recipe Keeper) to compare. The browser said 1 cup of evaporated milk, recipe Keeper copied the ingredients as 1 cup evaporated milk. This app changed the ingredient to 1/6 cup evaporated milk! What good is a recipe app when it to can’t even save the recipe correctly? I loved that this app is free and it has the option to show one step at a time. Other apps do not have this. If only this app doesn’t mess with the recipe, this would have been the perfect Recipe App. But because this changes the recipe, this app is a kitchen disaster waiting to happen.

Downgraded and disappointed. This app is really nice for adding recipes from family to online ones. When I first downloaded it I could make different categories and add all my recipes. I didn’t use it for a minute and when I resigned in this time now there’s a payment to have as many categories I would want. I had recipes behind locks of categories I had made prior to this downgrade and I had to consolidate and delete some other categories to be able to access my locked up recipes that before was free. There are no ads so if that’s what the price is for no ads that finr, but honestly very disappointed in this change.

Great App but not free. I liked everything about this app until I used up my allotted free categories. To my surprise now I need to pay $34.99 a year to categorize my remaining recipes. For example, now when I look for a soup recipe I have to remember where I put it. I feel you should be up front with the real deal and not only advertise this app is free.

If you want to pay its got what you need. I actually like the app and was excited to download it because it appeared to finally be one thats free, no ads, no tiers just super simple, no bells and whistles , a way to just collect the recipes from books. Unfortunately, not the case. You are limited in what you can do and how you can organize. Its just not worth paying a yearly subscription.

Not sure what’s happening. I just downloaded this app. I was hoping for ease of saving recipes. So far I’ve tried importing 5 recipes from the browser and it keeps throwing an error. So I tried typing in the whole recipe by hand. Same thing. I tried saving to Pinterest and importing from there. Same error code. What is happening that I can’t save recipes. I don’t want to have Facebook or instagram involved as I don’t want recipes on my page. Any thoughts or ideas why this is happening?

Great potential but a few potential dealbreakers. I’m reviewing the free version. I really appreciate what the app allows without a subscription. The importing of recipes is great except for one thing: it keeps changing the units from cups to ml. This may be a dealbreaker for me. Another issue is in the cooking mode. One of the reasons I got this app is for my phone not to lock while I’m following a recipe. However, this is only applied to the cooking steps and not to the part where you can see ingredients and amounts and honestly, that’s the most important part.

Ingredients not transferring. This app has a lot of potential, but I have noticed that the ingredients list does not transfer from the website.. sadly I did not discovered this until I had moved on from the recipe, would give a 5 starts if this was fixed.

FULL OF BUGS. I really wanted to love this app. It has potential. However, in its current state, it is full of bugs. Roughly 70% of the features do not work as they should and frequently force the app to be restarted. The app is also very restrictive in how recipes can be written. For example, measurements are automatically edited or changed to fit one specific style. This removes the ability to view measurements correctly for ingredients that require more than whole numbers, which makes recipes difficult to understand because they are no longer presented accurately. Since there is no place for notes to add information the app does not allow due to its restricted layout, you are forced to get creative or accept that the recipe will be missing important details. The list of bugs is too long to include here. I have tried reaching out to their “support” email multiple times and have never received a response. It is disappointing that user feedback does not seem to be acknowledged, as many of these issues could be fixed to make the app functional and genuinely useful. i really hope they can figure it out!

Cool app with potential, but it needs to improve. It has lots of features that would be useful if they worked. Like the recipe importing methods. I always get an ‘Import Failed’ error. You always end up having to enter them manually and even that gives you issues because it has a character limit. Every time theres an update I get excited to see whats new and then get disappointed when it doesn’t work. I have reported all these bugs, but I don’t think they actually address any.

Works but…. I like how it imports but the recipes are off causing you to edit them a lot. Needs to be tweaked but once you update it’s good to go.

Saves me so much time. I used to screenshot recipes from TikTok and forget about them lol. Now I just import them here and everything's organized. Super clean design too. Love that it's free with no catch
- ★★★★★recipe import from websites and social media saves manual entry
Actuality making recipes I have saved. Great app, pretty easy to get recipes in there from the source once you get the hang of it. I have imported from Facebook, screen shots, photos of physical cookbooks. I haven’t tried other social media yet mostly because my stuff is saved in FB. I did end up upgrading to pro but only because I wanted the option to upload more than five recipes a day. I have actually been trying new recipes that I have long ago saved now that I have them in one spot. Would recommend.

Finally!. I have been looking for an app like this that lets me import recipes from a browser, hard copy recipe cards, etc. I’ve been using it for a couple of months now - enough time to add a handful of loved recipes, and feel confident enough to invest the time in consolidating all the scraps of written recipes and URL links into it. Other apps I checked out cost $ but I functionality I didn’t care about. Now that I’ve used this I would pay for it.

Best recipe keeper. I have recipes across all my social platforms and often use AI to create new ones. Importing into recipe notes works great!
