   “No recipe” when it’s in the caption. Please figure out a way to pull the recipes from the IG reel captions. That’s the impression I got when I purchased it. Very disappointing that’s not something it’s doing.

   Sharing!. Would be the perfect app if only sharing worked across iCloud. Reached out to developer multiple times to no avail. Please let me know when you resolve it and I’ll be back!

   Deleted my data, no support. Have used this for a long time and liked it. One day turned on iCloud sync and without warning it deleted all my data. Years of data gone. Developer never responded to support requests.

   Horrible user interface. It’s a great idea but I just spent roughly 45 minutes trying to put in one recipe from the Notes app. (Apple). The copy and paste function is one of the most frustrating features. And short of retyping the entire recipe into the app, I finally gave up. I had a rather complicated recipe with a long instruction list. I pasted the recipe into its entirety into the instruction area. Each time I tried to move the ingredients or nutrition from the spot it was pasted into to the appropriate place in the recipe template the copy function was impossible to use. Or rather the selection of the text itself. You can only copy the length of the screen. Scrolling to copy is impossible. The keyboard stays active and gives only a tiny area to copy. You can’t dismiss the keyboard or the whole copy disappears. Why in the heck would I want to use an app when I can organize things by name, title etc in an app like Notes? I have hundreds of recipes I have written and more I have found and collected. They are already typed so why is it so hard to put them into this Mela app? I can’t recommend at all.

   Beware. Once you put your recipe in Mela you will no longer be able to copy the text. I wanted to print some of the recipes on 4x6 cardstock but I cannot select the text from my own recipe. So I cannot paste. The formatting of the built in print function is only for full page. Can’t modify it. I feel like I’ve been robbed of my recipes. Also why is the search box not floating above the list. I have to scroll back up through 150 recipes to get back to the search box. Overall a disappointment. I will get the recipes printed on cards and probably be done with digital storage of my recipes. Some things are not improved by technology.

   DON’T GET THIS APP. DON’T BE FOOLED!! As others have experienced you can lose your recipes! All of my recipes disappeared. And again as others have experienced there is NO customer support.

    Developer Unresponsive. I purchased the full edition of the app on Mac and iOS. However in their latest update they broke the iCloud sync if you are sharing a recipe library with someone else. Even though we made an attempt to reach out to the developer via their help page, we have not received any help.

    Was looking for an alternative Recipe Viewer, this is not it.. This app does not have a website for easier recipe importing. The app costs $5 one time which is great, but you can only use the free version for 10 recipes. The Grocery export to Grocery reminders in iOS doesn’t work. I think there should be a tutorial on finding rss feeds for the “feeds” section. I paid $5 dollars to start importing my recipes, and I’m not feeling like I’m out $5.

    iCloud Sync not Working. I love this app. My partner and I use it every week to meal plan and every day to cook. Unfortunately the iCloud syncing feature has stopped working. We’ve tried everything to try and fix it with no success. Does anyone have a fix for this?

    Takes over reminders. No matter what I do my ios reminder list is renamed Mela, even for none Mela reminders. Deleted Mela app and rebooted but reminder list still overwrites the name “Mela.”

    Great when it works. Such a great app when it works. My spouse and I use it for meal planning, but now can’t see the recipes the other has added. Tech support is non-existent.

    Not great lacks basic features. Import doesn’t work well. I am staring at a recipe on greenchef or HelloFresh and it can’t find it. No way to favorite recipes in RSS or move them over to your recipes.

    Lost most of my recipes. Have been using the Mac version and adding in lots of recipes, which works great, but is time consuming. I decided to buy the iPad version to use in the kitchen and set up sync over iCloud and now only have 38 recipes left, the rest are just gone. This was hours of work which has just disappeared. I emailed customer support, but like others have said, no reply, just dead space. I really liked the look of this Mela app, but if it looses all my work, no way, I want my money back, just rubbish. Shame the developer cannot even take the time to answer an email to try and fix the issue. Do NOT recommend. Guess I’m going back to Paprika, ugly, but at least it works.

    limited import functionality; non-existent customer service. The heart of my recipe collection are the hundreds (if not thousands) of recipes I've collected as MS-Word or PDF files. Mela has no way to import them in batches or individually. I raised the issue with the developer via email twice (no customer service phone number exists) and never heard back.

    Great (with a caveat). This app has pretty much everything I’ve looked for in a recipe collection app and works fantastic … unless you’re looking to share your recipes with another person. I was hoping to share a single recipe collection with my wife, but unfortunately the functionality to share across iCloud accounts doesn’t work. Whether this is an issue with the app or something on apples side, I don’t know, but safe to say it doesn’t work. Additionally I messaged the app developer, hoping for some clarity and they haven’t responded back. Here’s hoping they resolve this issue.

    Print options. Please add toggle options when printing!!! Please add the option to toggle have the food image when printing :,) also the AI that is used to gather recipe info is not great…please fix this!

    Printing broken after iOS update. I just updated to iOS 26 and the ability to control what gets included in the print menu is now gone. I usually uncheck the photo to save ink and the description to keep the recipe to one page, now I can’t do that anymore!

    No recipe on this page. Constant messages of joy being able to find recipe. Even using Share option. Around 10 recipes I’ve tried to save. 10 recipes not found. So many good reviews. Wanted to like this app.

    Only an iOS subscription, Mac subscription is extra?. From the description in the App Store, it doesn’t mention if this is a cross platform purchase or not – I thought it would be. But to my surprise, when using the Mac app, and trying to do the restore purchases option, it says that there is nothing found. So if you’re hoping to use this across your Mac and iOS devices, it looks like at least you’re my experience that you’re going to have to pay twice to get the Mac App as well, which is a huge downside in my opinion. I think this should be more clearly displayed in the description, especially since it mentions things like iCloud syncing, which would obviously be the most handy going between your own devices (Mac/iOS).

    Great BUT….. I read the reviews and the app seemed to be very functional. One big downside: I plan my weekly meals and the shopping list is not “sortable” which means you need to scroll the entire list to see how many of each item you need to buy. Making the grocery list “sortable” would allow you to buy “3 lemons” easily. I sent 3 emails over 2 weeks and never got 1 response. Idk. Seems sketchy to me now. I want to like it. But no customer interaction seems off to me. Mela - you can do better than that!!

    Sync not working. First, let me say I love the app, the design is beautiful and so easy to use. We bought it in Dec across all our Apple devices - laptops and iPhones / iPads. At that time everything worked perfectly, syncing across all device types. But since the middle of Jan the sync is broken. I’ve been adding recipes on my laptop (macOS) and they don’t appear on the phone or iPad (iOS). I’ve emailed the Mela support team but no response. It’s truly unfortunate, because as everyone else has written about this app, it truly is one of the best out there. But if it doesn’t sync across devices it really is no use to me, since I use all my devices depending on where I am. At least a response to issues would also be helpful.

    Negatives: search funktion and sync not working between devices. Sync between two devices simply doesn’t work. I have 15 more recipes on my phone than on my iPad. Logged out of everything when I switched devices recently, and it seemed to work for a while, but now I’m back to having discrepancies. We have made several tickets but not much help from the developer. Fed up with a bad app that you have to sit scrolling up to reach the start of the list. No search function worth the name. Will probably end up going back to Paprika.
