- ★★★★★search fails to find what is needed
It’s just OK. I want to like this, but ugh. It doesn’t sync even when you force a sync. So if I log on another device or the website, nothing makes it onto the app. There should also be a better way to search for foods I eat regularly. Daily I log a specific creamer…and daily I have to go through my recent foods to find it. Why can’t I just search and find it? Which brings me to the search function, as a whole it rarely finds what I’m looking for. Even when I search for things I manually added. Overall, there are too many options to bother using one that lacks so much functionality and intuitive behavior. Update: I wrote this review on 4/15/2025. They responded today, 6/11/2026 and suggested I contact customer support for help with my issues. No thanks, think I’ll just move on like I did 14 months ago. Lowering rating from 3 to 1 stars.
- ★★★★★subscription and paid restrictions
Scam. I cancelled my subscription (through Apple) in 2024 and I am still being charged monthly. Subscription no longer shows up on Apple, and unable to cancel my subscription through the My Macros website. They are a scam.

Garbage. Just downloaded today, not user friendly at all, barcode scanner is the worst. Very frustrating!

Update - bad. You guys need to update the app again. My app crashed immediately when I try to search up what food to input. Every single time.

Did you ruin this app?. I used to use this app regularly and had all of my meals named with my macro goals for that meal and a bunch of favorite foods. Now I come back to the app after a few months not counting and discover you’ve wiped ALL of that away and ruined all the effort I put into this app previously. Please tell me I’m just missing something!
- ★★★★★inaccurate results and incorrect data
Incorrect calorie info. Idk why on my phone, when I scan the barcode or when I scan the label, it doesn’t record the correct info for the items macro’s. Greek yogurt for an example, is 100 cal and 17g of protein. But when I scan it and I it shows up as 5g of protein per serving. Not really happy with the purchase I made in this app.
- ★★★★★subscription and paid restrictions
Upgrade to enter oz. Seriously? You fail to scan the barcode correctly then want to charge me to manually enter the oz-based serving in the label.
- ★★★★★crashes, freezes and errors
Broken functionality hasn’t been fixed in years. It’s also almost impossible to find standard items in the search such as onion, potato, or other fruits and veggies. You have to make a custom food item for each of those things, which makes no sense at all to me. Basic food items should be easily searchable. Additionally, most food items are not easily found when searching. You have to scroll through a sea of garbage results that have nothing in common with what you searched for, and you usually still won’t find what you searched for. Button to log an item is top right, versus being bottom center, not huge, but annoying that this app looks like it’s from 2000 when every other app has moved to new UI. Also, there’s buttons that live half off of my phone screen and almost aren’t reachable. Apparently they don’t do any testing when building a mobile app to make sure it fits. Not sure if I’m gonna stick with this app. Torn because I think what it offers is better than most tracking apps, but it seems to be broken in some major ways.
- ★★★★★inaccurate results and incorrect data
Hate this newest scan update 2026.06. Which ever update initiated the new way to scan things whether it be the nutrition label or the barcode is absolute trash. You scan a nutrition label which has all the information but yet it still puts in wrong information. You scan a barcode and it tells you sorry we can’t find it or whatever it says. Thinking about uninstalling and finding a new app.
- ★★★★★subscription and paid restrictions
If I could give 0 stars I would. If I could give zero stars I would. Nothing is intuitive and their customer service is very difficult to work with. Do yourself a favor and use macro factor… at least there you don’t have to jump through hoops to get answers or cancel your subscription. You get what you pay for!

Not user friendly. Had high hopes. This app isn’t user friendly. The barcode scanner doesn’t work, trying to add foods are a pain, their library for input of foods are not as much as other apps. Simple things like Walmart brands are not easy to add.

New update is a disaster. Can’t create a recipe from the daily input, plus it’s finicky, at best, on which macro it will correctly calculate per serving. Bring the old version back! 😭
- ★★★★★subscription and paid restrictions
Caution. I’ve decided not to use MyMacros+ so I “cancelled” today in the day I was told my free offer was good until. Evidently I was charged for a year even though I was still in the free period. I never used the app. Be careful. Don’t pay- even if you just want to check it out. It will cost you.
- ★★★★★inaccurate results and incorrect data
So far not good. I use the barcode and inaccurate information comes up and doesn’t let me select the amount of the package I use. I can’t create recipes because ingredients don’t show up on the search and I can’t input accurate amounts. The app crashes after about two or three tries of customizing anything.
- ★★★★★data, history or progress disappears
All data deletes with new phone. I enjoyed using this app, but all the data I had input was deleted when I updated to a new phone. I reached out to the support team over a week ago and still haven’t heard anything back. By now I’ve already switched to a different platform, so even if they did reply I’ve already moved on. Definitely would NOT recommend using this.

Continuously Losing Date. When this app works, it’s great! I’ve used it for at least 10 years. Every time I get a new phone, I’m fighting to find my data. It doesn’t automatically sync anything. I keep losing data and having to rebuild my portfolio of foods, recipes, etc. The sync doesn’t work, the “upload all” doesn’t work, it’s a nightmare.
- ★★★★★subscription and paid restrictions
Review keeps deleting! WTH. Horrible- used to be the best app for tracking macros, now just insane. I can’t even change from cups to grams without paying for it. Insane. Horrible.
- ★★★★★subscription and paid restrictions
Sold Out. They moved to a subscription model and erased all my custom foods and history. You lost a customer.

Terrible app. Completely erases ALL my saved every once in a while. It’s like a messed up update. When I save food into my favorites, the app decides if it actually do it or not When creating a recipe, you can’t go and tweak it to fit you daily intake once it’s done you either scrap it or make your peace with it. Scan function works sometimes, when it does work it doesn’t saved the scanned food item anywhere

Not as user friendly as others. This gets the job done ….eventually. I have used many different trackers over the years and this is not as user friendly. I wanted to like it but it lacks a robust data base, food import capabilities, tracking of micro nutrients and reports. Chronometer is my favorite and I’ll stick with it.
- ★★★★★subscription and paid restrictions
Company switched to subscription model. The app used to have an expensive initial app purchase and it would come with features, now you have to pay for them. It’s absolutely pointless to invest in it more when you can pay to get more comprehensive information from Cronometer. The UI was perfect before now it’s not better than any other macro counter.
- ★★★★★subscription and paid restrictions
Paid for the app and now it’s subscription. I’m so frustrated. I loved this app and have used it for years, paid for it many years ago and had access to lots of features that now I no longer have access to because they turned it into a subscription based apps. I’m so tired of subscriptions and it’s especially frustrating when I paid for these features by buying the app previously. Will no longer be using I guess :(
- ★★★★★subscription and paid restrictions
Removed features. I’ve used the app since 2015 and paid for it. Now, they want to charge a monthly subscription to allow basic features. For example, I had some foods in ounces and I wanted to change it to grams. In order to do that, you have to now subscribe and pay for a simple feature. They want to charge people for doing basic math( 1 oz to 28.34 g). Insane. Yes, you can still edit it via the pencil icon, but if it’s the same thing, why have one method require payment and the other not? It’s misleading. Show the charge for the features that do cost more. Don’t show the subscription if the user is just doing a different method to get to the same result? If they want to charge per month, maybe fix the problems with the app first? For example, the search function is close to useless. Secondly, when you create a recipe, you must use the search function and cannot scan barcodes… so, if you can’t find the food, you have to exit the recipe you were creating, scan the new food (or manually enter it), then go back to the recipe and search that food in your custom food list. I’ve also had the app crash and it’s lost my data for the day. I was fine with all of this because I got what I paid for, but now, you pay the cost of the app every month and get all the bugs. :)
- ★★★★★subscription and paid restrictions
paid for app, now need subscription. i’ve used this because it was a subscription free alternative to track calories and macros, that is no longer the case

Stop changing the UI. I’m a long time user of the app and originally I loved that it was so much simpler and easier to track my macros with compared to MyFitnessPal’s awful UI. Sadly they’ve just made a really unnecessary design update to the fast track macro input screen. Now every field on the form is unnecessarily large so you have to scroll to fill it out. This probably sounds like a tiny thing, but I wish the developer would consider that people are in the app trying to track every meal - every little bit of friction really adds up. There was no reason to make this change and it’s genuinely frustrating. Edit: just a few months later the developer decided to change around the UI yet again and move things around for no reason. Officially fed up with this and moving on to another app.

Menus Aren’t Accessible. The three bar icon, that accesses the menus, cannot be easily accessed. Please move the profile picture to the right and move the menu access icon over to the right. Very frustrating that I’ve brought this to your attention multiple versions ago and nothing has been done.

worst food tracking app. I want my $3 back. Half the food I scan isn’t found and the other half is in the system wrong. It’s not user friendly at all. I search for foods and the results are all unrelated foods. I searched the word Dunkin and didn’t get a single result. You can’t tell me no one has ever added a Dunkin item in the app. I’m going back to Myfitnesspal for $70.

Difficult to use. This has to be the most difficult and confusing macro counting app I have ever used. The barcode scanner has never been accurate, their library of foods is very scarce. Entering food info and data is confusing and not user friendly.
- ★★★★★subscription and paid restrictions
Lost everything. Everything from the base app is gone. I lost all the food that I entered by hand. I’ve been using this app since it was originally released. I paid for it then. This update to subscription model adds nothing of value, and I lost everything that I originally had.

I need a full refund NOW!. There’s bad faith in this app and it’s obvious when the updates make the app more confusing to use. Actually is not more confusing. They purposely made the app a hassle to properly track your macros. Which was not the case initially because there was no incentive. There was no subscription and now the subscription is a pay wall that defeats a whole purpose of the app. I already paid Money to use his app and they are slowly stripping the usefulness to get more money out of a person. Full refund now and delete my information.
