   UpWord has been abandoned for years.. Upword has some serious problems, including trade-offs, and it hasn't been updated or improved on my iPhone (iOS) from the App Store since 2018. One of the worst problems with Upword is the scrolling issue: I can't scroll down while typing, and it kicks me out when I try to sign up for Upword with Dropbox. I wish Upnote had a trash can, version history for notes, and a before-and-after comparison, so I can recover them since I already deleted them due to Grammarly’s Generative AI-suggested edits. Because of UpWord, I had to move my notes from UpWord to Apple Notes.

   Outdated. Lost all notes after changing phone. Last update was 6 years ago… this app need to be removed!

   UpWord. I used this app for several years and it worked perfectly. by then, I had notes of all kinds that I had saved-list of books I’ve read wanted to read, significant numbers and passwords and many of the categories. Then, all of a sudden. everything disappeared and I cannot retrieve it. I have emailed the developers asking for help and get no response To all New users-do not risk using this app; you will be sorry

   Do not purchase!!!. Developer abandoned this app YEARS ago. It’s now buggy beyond belief. I’m a LONG time user and paid for the pro version. Don’t waste your time or money. Look elsewhere. You’ve been warned.

   Used to love it…now it’s awful. I’ve had this app for over 4 years and have absolutely loved it. Until I recently got a new phone and now I have to relink and sync my account every single time I open the app. It’s very tedious and annoying to say the least.

   Never received reply. I had an issue about my note that was disappeared after changing the phone, so wrote an email to customer service, but I never got any reply. I am using the premium version that I paid for.

    App stopped working. I’ve been using UpWord for years as a way to file information and have it available on each of my mobile devices. It always worked well on WiFi and cell data. UNTIL it used Dropbox to update. Yesterday I lost all of my notes. Lucky for me I have an iPad which is so old it doesn’t update any more, so the old version of UpWord had all of my notes which I was able to email to myself to save them. I am now deleting UpWord from all my devices.

    Amateur design.. Focuses on looks and not functionality. You have to use a color interface. Navigation icons hard to see because of poor UI color schemes. Not really practical.

    USED TO BE the greatest note app. I lived by this note app for 7 years. It was awesome! It did everything I wanted with a well designed, intuitive interface. Sure, it had a few little quirks, like not keeping your settings after updates, etc. But I could live with that. Unfortunately, it appears the app was sold three years ago and the new owners are content to allow it to whither on the vine. There has not been an update since that time and the failure points have become so prevalent as to make it unusable. For example, the link to Dropbox fails each time the app opens, which requires re-linking on almost every use. The solution would be to fix the backend to allow for linking to other cloud databases (Google, iCloud, etc.), or just fix the bugs! But there is no discernible way to contact the developers (all links are broken). So with great regret, I’ve had to migrate to another app.

    Data Not Saved. When I fist installed the app, information was saved, but for the last month, nothing has been saved and there is no path to contact support for this issue.

    Used to be great… no more. A couple years ago I would’ve given us I have a five star review but lately and has gone south. App crashes constantly and the Dropbox backup feature doesn’t work consistently. Sad to say goodbye but it seems that the developer has abandoned it.

    What Happened?. I’ve used this app nearly every day for years, and paid for the premium features because I loved it so much. Since the latest update, all of my notes, which were arranged by date, are now alphabetical by the first word of the note. I used the date system as a way to keep track of my thoughts at a particular time in my life, and without a that reference, they’re meaningless. Might as well be grocery lists, not functional journal entries. No way to contact support anymore, either, from within the app or the app store.

    Updates reset settings. Lately every time I update the app it resets my settings which is extremely annoying. Please fix.

    Waste of App. Been using the app for years since I purchased it. Trying to get my money’s worth. I synced it to Dropbox and it deleted almost every note I had. Can’t get them back from anywhere: e-mail, iCloud, restore , resync. Nothing. Years of notes gone. I reached out to the developer with no response. There are other apps that are free that do everything the paid version of this does.

    Keeps resetting. Constantly losing fast access to previous notes because the app resets and restarts the tutorial. This is a problem when you have to take down info in a hurry. Very concerned about losing stored notes with all of the unexpected resets.

    Keeps resetting. I used to love this note taking app. But since the newest update, it keeps returning to the blue screen tutorial every time I open it and it forgets my settings. My previous font which I always used is no longer available. The night mode for the actual notes is also unpleasant to look at (I really don’t like the red text).

    Literally the best note taking app this doesn’t work properly in ios 15 yet…. This is literally the best note taking app I know of and I bought the full version and everything, but it keep resetting all the tome in IOS 15 — I sent them an E-mail and they have not addressed me. I will have to find another notetaking app soon if they don’t— which I really don’t want to do as this one is among the best. Anyhow if this gets addressed I will change this rating to the 5 stat rating it should be aside from this issue, but right now this is very frustrating as I truly rely on these notes.

    RIP. I used this app more than any other app for years and years. I had close to 200 notes. I used the app every day as my to do list, my calendar, keeping notes for my business, and my personal life. I have a bad memory because of a medical condition so it is very necessary for me to keep notes on almost everything I do. I had so many folders full of notes. The app worked amazingly up until today. Without any warning it would not let me load any of my notes. It said I needed to link to Dropbox, but I have been linked for years so I don’t understand how it was unlinked. When I tried to re-establish the link I got an error. I tried many different troubleshooting options but could not re-establish the link. I checked the Dropbox folder only to find that the app had not been backing up any of my notes for at least two years. There’s another option though, it allows you to email all your notes to yourself, I thought I was saved. When I received the email with the zip file it was empty. I tried updating all my apps, no luck. I updated iOS, no luck. I downloaded a newer version of the upword app, no luck. I looked on this page and saw that it hasn’t been updated in years, the developer website doesn’t exist anymore, and there’s really only a Facebook page. I am at a complete loss as to what to do. As someone with memory issues I feel like my life has been robbed from me, like I’ve been hit on the head and have amnesia. I put my life into these notes and they are all gone. I feel completely lost. If you are the developer and you are reading this and there’s anything you can do to help me recover my notes please contact me.

    Not working. I’ve been using up word for several years now and loved it enough to buy the upgrade. And all of sudden, it stop working. It still has my old notes, but will not add new ones or create new notes all together. Tried to contact developer but keeps giving following message “Your PHP installation appears to be missing the MySQL extension which is required by WordPress”. Please fix this issue ASAP.

    Great App- lousy tech support. Don’t use this for information you value and want to retain. It works fabulously and then everything disappears and there is no way to restore it. You are led to believe that your notes are being synched/backed up to DropBox and then when they all disappear, you are informed that the DropBox is “deprecated” and nothing else. Requests for assistance have been ignored. The only way this app will work consistently and be completely trustworthy is to immediately cut and paste each note into a separate, unrelated note-taking app, which preferably is also backed up by a different cloud based service. What’s that you say? Ridiculous? Stupid? Time-consuming? Yes, it is. What a shame they can’t provide better protections and advice. Maybe they should send out a paper and pencil with each download. If you value your time and curation of information, look elsewhere.

    Hate Hate Hate Hate. I absolutely hate this app. I had been writing letters to my boyfriend for 8 months about how much I love him and planned to give him all the letters on our wedding day. I constantly backed up my notes and when the “back up & sync” reminder popped up I ALWAYS pressed okay. My phone broke to the point where it wouldn’t come on and I got a new one but there’s no way of getting my old notes back so I don’t understand where I was backing up and syncing to if not to my iCloud? I wrote him hundreds of notes that I will never be able to get back and I’m so mad and hurt. If I would have known that “back up and sync” didn’t truly mean anything because they weren’t being back up or synced to anywhere, I wouldn’t have wasted my time with this app and I would have just used my regular notes all because all my notes from there are still saved and then I’d have all of those letters that I wrote.

    No Customer Support. This used to be my favorite app, I’ve been using it for several years now— it’s simple and easy to organize and exactly what I was looking for after I got an iPhone— unfortunately over the summer I had some issues with deleted notes reappearing again. Most likely a bug of some sort- I recently got a new iPhone so perhaps the app is no longer compatible— I have reached out to customer support several times now since then and I’ve received no response. Not really sure what to do. I guess all I can do is back up my notes to my computer and start using another app for my notes. It’s with a heavy heart that I say, I don’t recommend this app anymore. Look elsewhere.
