Stop shoving AI into things. If you would stop adding this AI slop into the app I would happily change the rating because other than your random insistence on auto-enabling the environmentally disastrous and morally abhorrent “feature” of genAI, the app is good. I’d prefer it be re-integrated with the rest of Plex, but it’s still good.

App won’t load content.. It worked the first day I used it (after paying for Plex Pass) and now it won’t load any of my content. Ridiculous

App Abandoned. The app seems to be abandoned by Plex.
- ★★★★★crashes, freezes and errors
why change what isn’t broken?. Constant crashing. App is SO unstable

Pretty lame. What’s with the lame options descriptions? Whoever wrote them has a very punchable face. And how come music doesn’t automatically start at the beginning of the song every time? Should be pretty basic stuff… Edit: lol yeah using plex for audiobooks is what everyone uses Plexamp for. Zzz.

Maybe my least wanted app of all time.. There is no combination more frustrating than being forced to use an app I didn’t ask for, which actively takes away from the reason I signed up for a service, and then routinely doesn’t work on top of it. It’s the holy trinity of bad software experiences, and it has been my experience with Plexamp from day one. I love Plex because of the ability to jump quickly between video libraries, music libraries, and even live TV. I don’t mind there being an app that specializes in music for the people who would prefer to keep things separate, but forcing me to use it just means I have to keep switching between apps… the whole thing I got on Plex to get away from. It would be a little less painful if Plexamp wasn’t also much worse at staying connected to my server than the old iOS version of Plex had been. That brings me to now. A few days ago, Plexamp just stopped working. Right in the middle of a playlist, for no discernible reason. I made no server changes to provoke this. No amount of rebooting or other futzing around since on either my iOS devices or the server itself has proven successful. No interruptions in connectivity have been present on any of my other devices (e.g. TV and Roku), where I can access my music through Plex. But the irony of all ironies is that if I go to the Plex web experience on these same iOS devices, everything works fine. You know, the way that the old iOS version of Plex used to. I swore I read somewhere that music was being put back into the main Plex app for iOS at some point. I hope I didn’t just imagine that, and I hope it comes sooner than later if I didn’t. This product has not improved my Plex Pass experience at all and if I ever cancel or move to another service it will probably be the reason why I do.

Miss the old Plex. Plexamp for music is truly sucks. Different from Plex, the UI is inconsistent, and couldn’t play songs while Plex could. Truly garbage
- ★★★★★a needed feature is missing
Doesn’t work. Wish it was still integrated in the plex app

Fix the loop feature. Nice app, but giving it one star for the inconvenient loop function. A basic feature that other applications like VLC and Apple Music have easily perfected is very annoying in Plexamp. I like listening to the same song more than once. What I don’t like is the constant need to click loop every time I choose a new song. It’s even worse in album singles when you forget to click loop and all that follows is radio silence after the song ends. As far as I know, there’s no setting in plexamp to remember that you kept loop on. If it were fixed one day, that tiny change would be enough to turn the app from nice to perfect.

Never Works. Like I said it works when it wants too after using it for a year …

Ignores Plexpass. We purchased a lifetime Plexpass but this app ignores it and wont allow us to restore purchases. A pure ripoff.

Horrible!. Says it all!

Lack of Ai options to trial. This app has a sonic sage feature to build playlists. That only works with ChatGPT. Which requires a face scan to use there api for free. Would be nice if we had options like Claude or other ai companies. Not just ones that have contracts with ICE.

Plex sucks!. I used to love Plex but it kept getting worse with each update and now I find it absolutely useless. They’ve gone the way of Apple by focusing on giving you content they want and charging you for whatever they can versus just providing an easy way to manage and access your own media content. It’s pathetic.

Can't play any music. The app shows me all my music, and I can even play it all on the PC version of plexamp, but when I try to play any songs on the mobile app it just gives me an infinite black screen with a loading symbol.

My detailed summaries keep getting deleted. Not going to type detailed notes again since it keeps getting deleted, but after their code refresh where they consolidated different forks it’s been practically unusable, bugs that still exist to this day, and sneaking advertisements into products you have on your own servers. They split audio into a separate app, which I previously enjoyed having everything under 1 app, they removed live TV from the client due to negative feedback, yet its back again. I don’t want this, no one wants this, I just want to watch my media. Thanks. Go with Jellyfin or Kodi if you need to set up a client-server media service.

Not designed for iPad. This is the phone amp that is stretched out for the iPad. Really lazy stuff here.
- ★★★★★slow performance and long loading times
Plex corporate overlords ruin everything. Application feature bloat. UI complications. True brevity and simple execution are no longer considered good design and performance. This app is completely unnecessary and should not exist if users were important. All the Plex player needs to provide is access to your owned library of media so you can play it. This is an abomination as private equity money corrupts the purpose of existence by trying to make it another big brother, data gathering, monetization monster. Awful on all accounts.

Shuffle. Not good, I usually shuffle all tracks in my library. It starts off fine, but at some point, the shuffle stops and it starts playing the tracks in alphabetical order, please fix.
- ★★★★★accessibility and assistive-technology issues
Does not work with VoiceOver. This app does not have voiceover compatibility really at all and does not work if you’re blind.

Doesn’t work. Doesn’t work

Used to be an awesome app. I like the Plex which has photos, music, and videos all in one. I don’t like having separate apps for these. For photos and home videos I no longer see a thumbnail picture … it just shows the photo file name. These recent changes are not very useful for me.

App doesn’t work correctly. App doesn’t work unless I’m on the network, web browser works better. Please fix connectivity issue.

Still can’t play my music. Loaded this app the Plex app use the web app Plex media server app and all of it doesn’t do what I needed to do. That is play my music on Amazon echo dot max.
- ★★★★★subscription and paid restrictions
Doubled lifetime membership. As the title states, they just doubled the cost of their lifetime membership in the two days since I downloaded the app.

Never again. This is the worst, most confusing app ever. I can’t get out of the music I was playing, to get to different music. Standard Plex works seamlessly, Plex amp is garbage.

Fix the audio output volume!!!!. The app is great, if you like the max volume at 1/2 of what it should be. Horrible.
- ★★★★★negative experience without a specific reason· unspecific
Rarely works. App rarely works I just get a spinner then back to the playlist screen. Random play in playlist does entire library
- ★★★★★negative experience without a specific reason· unspecific
The worst. Hate this app and the fact that it is separate from the Plex app. No need of this. Also missing bone stock features like playback speed control. Not ready for prime time. Also the developers defensive responses to reviews is not a good look
- ★★★★★negative experience without a specific reason· unspecific
Missing basic features. No way to sync your library and they removed the option from the plex app. i am forced to use my pc for simple tasks, they made both apps worse with this release. if you want me to manage my music in a separate app now, make it support the basic features to manage your library. you can’t even update your library now. edit: still no way to refresh your library from the app. developer response isn’t helpful.
