   Constantly freezes after upgrade. The recent upgrade broke the app. It launches but stops accepting input after a few seconds. It’s been weeks and no fix so far.

   “Free” $20 App. You can get to 一ニ三四五六七八 before it cuts you off for a subscription service. Didn’t even have the dignity to teach you 九 and十 before that. Otherwise pretty bland, multiple choice, flash card app with some finger drawing elements. Edit: I would have maintained the two star rating but the developer was upset that I posted his dishonest presentation of his app. No one is asking for a free app but at least show the price from the start.

   App update reset progress. Lost all progress when it updated to 1.6.8. Ridiculous. Ever hear of testing?

   New update is really screwy. The old version had some issues but at least it worked fairly well. New one has a bunch of issues. Won’t be spending any more money until it’s fixed

   Issues with the writing lessons. The writing lesson for the kanji KI (spirit,heart) is not consistent even when done correctly!!! Need to update and fix this flaw in this overpriced app.

    why a “free” app?. app is “free” , though you can only do one lesson per level, otherwise its 20$ for all levels or an increasing amount per level. just charge 20$ for the app, its deceptive.

    I officially give up on this app. Writing kanji is the best method for me to learn and this app does a tremendous job at what it does. I use it daily and my kanji has greatly improved. I look forward to using this app even if reviewing the kanji takes me one hour long to go through. However, this app has so many bugs and it is frustrating. The slightest drawings on certain kanji is so sensitive that a slight error will cause you to immediately to start over. It’s very harsh and it really annoys me. I understand strokes have to be drawn a certain way but even when I do it correctly, it sometimes doesn’t recognize it or counts my stroke as incorrect although I follow exactly what it tells me to do. Another thing is definitions. You have many kanji with the same meanings such as house, building, departure, open, etc. but never explained in context. I’m forced to look them up on my own to tell difference when it could have been written better. I’ve requested so many times to get things fixed that it seems the developer has given up on their own product. Therefore, I will give up on this app too then since my learning has been interrupted with too many bugs and no updates in the past year.

    Costs Money. Wanted this in conjunction with Busuu. I really liked how the single lesson I got to do was formatted but that’s as far as I got. You have to buy the other lessons 🙄 very frustrating in a world that already costs so much and most people don’t have expendable income. Immediately deleted

    lost all purchases, no support. I really loved this app a lot, and it used to be my only real way of learning kanji, but it’s seriously frustrating how unresponsive the developers are Switched my phone a while ago, and lost all purchases. Restoring didn’t work, and 3+ emails with no response back. Just is unfortunate

    Dev does not respond to requests. I got a new phone and need to continue my progress on it. The dev has refused to respond after multiple requests.

    Unusable because of broken review system. There are some kanji where the evaluation system is completely broken, in particular, 羽. Because of the way the review system works, it has become impossible for me to review kanji now. This was a great app, but the lack of response to small issues like this bring it down to a 1 star.

    Prepare to pay $11. Unless you’re okay with just learnings numbers 1-4 (Accidentally said 1-5 in my original review. It’s 1-4, sorry to get your hopes up)

    Scam. This is a scam. I downloaded it and paid the one-time fee of $4.99 for access to all lessons a few months ago. I thought it was a great deal, so I made the in-app purchase. I used the lessons and made progress. Then, the app was updated and it would not let me get back on it at all. It was just a blank screen. Nothing would work. I downloaded the app again on the exact same device and iCloud account. To my surprise, none of my progress was saved and it now wants me to pay another $10.99 for lifetime access to all lessons. Beware to those who make purchases on the app. You will loose your progress when the developers decide that they want more money. Also, they won’t notify you. You will randomly come on the app and find a blank screen.

    Everything about this app is a buggy mess. You will get random words locked into your reviews so they appear every time even if you have never gotten them wrong. The first set of reviews after learning a new block will throw out half the new questions for no reason. It will read accidental double taps and make you get questions wrong without ever seeing them. There are an abundance of questions where your only options are a set of synonyms or the same comma list in different orders. It is not possible to reset the data since it will magically reload your deleted progress even if you have manually disabled cloud backup and deleted all save information on your device. An abundance of questions have the wrong pronunciation, furigana, definitions, english grammar, part of speech hints…

    Bugged characters impossible. Enjoyed the app greatly until the last big update when it became impossible to complete reviews while the stroke order of some characters remain bugged. Stay away until bugs are addressed. Update 03/14 Still waiting for 院 to be fixed. Input with Apple Pencil remains unreliable.

    Useless. This app went downhill. Minimal feedback and opportunities to correct when reviewing…i can literally draw the kanji incorrectly, and it gets counted correctly. Never used to do that. Prompts for kanji are vague sometimes and even incorrect. If you want to learn and retain kanji, looks for another app.

    There are better Kanji tools out there. Especially that you need to PAY for other kanji, 1.99 for each level or 10.99 for all of them for 1 JLP, that's 50 dollars in total, that's kinda scummy

    please fix the app!. this is my favorite app to learn kanji, but every time i open the app it just shows a blank screen. i refreshed the app and restarted my phone and it still doesn’t work.

    Stroke orders are messed up. Used this app four like five minutes. The Kanji for the word four doesn’t even trace the Kanji character four, top stroke is missing. Stroke orders are messed up. Gave up in frustration.

    [UPDATE] re:Old Readings Gone. As I progress through the application, which was pretty decent when I first started to use it, that it is truly lacking. DO NOT BUY LEVEL 5 (N1). Very few of the characters are able to be written. You might as well save yourself the money and just make flash cards on Anki because it is the same for the majority of the N1 words. It is very disappointing. ——————————————————— I have started to notice, but I think that many of the old readings are gone. For example, there used to be 漢 for おとこ, but only reading now is かん. Similarly, the developer also removed 社’s やしろ, and there is no longer the reading of “かかえる” for 抱える. I would like to request that the author bring these readings back or at least make available some list of them on their website. It is hard to trust this app as much as I did before when many of the old readings are gone. I wonder if it still even teaches that なる can be written, albeit rarely, as 成る. Honestly, I am pretty disappointed in these changes. It is still a decent way to learn, but I can’t give it 4 stars anymore. I chose 3 because I rounded up from 2.5. If the developer can fix what they erased, I would really appreciate it.
