Do NOT use Penzu, you will lose years of journaling. Penzu is a scam. I used it as an online journal then all of a sudden I cannot login. I’ve tried many times and when I tried to contact support it said I needed to upgrade to a paid subscription. So what - years of journaling is just lost because I don’t want to give money to a scam site? DO NOT USE PENZU. why do I have to pay to get help with an app???????

Lost access to journal. The app is now not letting me access my journals I’ve had for 6 years, forces me to create a new account then says email address is already taken. No option to log in from basic account any upgrade. Total failure and complete loss of trust for a sensitive application like journaling. Don’t trust your journaling to this app or you will lose access to your valuable private information one day.

BUG NEEDS FIXING. When you try to use the voice to text for this application, it literally crashes the application. Not sure why we can’t get this fixed, but it’s a real pain.

Used to……Love it!. Don’t want to update my prior review, but I can’t add photos or easily locate how to contact support. I literally just paid full price for it 5 minutes ago, and I’m pretty frustrated and disappointed that I can’t even reach out for help. Will update review again if anyone ever tries to fix this. It's perfect for what I need. Multiple journals in the same spot protected with a passcode. Only "bug" is you have to wait to see the green check mark before you exit from an entry or it won't save it. Once I realized that, I've had no issues. Perfect!!

Not private. Not only is your information not private or encrypted, but they send out daily emails with previews of what you last wrote. This is dangerous for those trying to record things privately on a website or an app all for it to be showcased in an email across any of your devices.

no way to upgrade. I got repeated messages from them telling me to upgrade, which only linked a page for me to log in with no additional info. Now when I try to sign in it won't even let me in, just says I need to upgrade but gives me NO information on how to do that.

Can’t log in. When I try to make an account it says that the email is taken but when I try and reset the password it says that there is no account with that password and when you try to go to contact them it says you have to pay to get support

Crashes. I found it annoying that I start writing and then suddenly it just crashes and turns off. I’m going to erase it and see if I can install it again and hopefully it won’t erase all my entries The point is I was gonna go to Support and ask for what do I do in this case troubleshooting but lo and behold there’s no support for that so here it my review. The app doesn’t work

Loses Entries. I had used this app for so many years, but twice now when I’ve had to “downgrade” from pro to the free regular app, several months of entries were lost. So ridiculous. Deleting the app and switching to another.

Have been unable to contact anyone account deletion. I signed up ages ago for a free account. It wasn’t for me, and I have been unable to reach anyone. “Support” tab on website directs you to download the app. But there is no option to delete account, only to upgrade to a paid version.

The app keeps failing. I enjoy using Penzu on my desktop however it is an absolute terrible experience when using it on my phone whenever I try to utilize my journal it always fails and closes out mid sentence when I’m typing. I don’t know if it’s a Bug . I don’t know if it’s just the app however as a user my experience is not great especially when I’m wanting to use it on my phone for the convenience and I can’t.

App keeps going down. Every time I try to use the dictation function and then tried to click in the app to correct a spelling error or to write something, the app shuts down, and I have to restart it. After happening about 10 times I think I may look for another app.

App crashed when you voice dictate. You would think a journal app would let you voice dictate. Oh, and, the app isn’t formatted for iPhone 12 Pro or something because I can’t press the back button at the top. So I have to close my app to get back to the main screen where I can lock it.

Not much to see here!. Not as rich of an app as they make it sound. Paid $20 subscription for a year, and you get very little in return, unless of course, you want to pay more. Won’t be back!!

DO NOT USE THIS APP. I am beyond frustrated and close to tears. I have used this app to document my kids lives and upgraded to pro nearly two years ago. When I renewed my subscription in April the app did not register the renewal. My phone shows it as renewed but the app and the website will not let me log in. This means I can’t add new entries but I also can’t see any previous entries. They are all held hostage by an app that won’t let me login. When I try to add a support request (horrible support program btw) I am met with an “unknown error” from the website and it immediately deletes my request. Please do not use this app to add precious memories for you or your family. I have not been able to find any support team info.

PLEASE PUT DARK MODE ON THE PHONE. I cant believe I pay subscription to change the background colors on my desktop but cant even get this simple service on my phone, Many of us uses this as notes to go over them at night time, and I cant stress this enough its ridiculous I need to squint my eyes because THE BRIGHT WHITE BACKGROUND CANT BE CHANGED… hope they fix this SOON otherwise im taking my business somewhere else….

Lost all my journal entries. I lost a years worth of entires including my wedding day journal. My heart hurts so bad. It’s not worth documenting on this app. Nothing will ever make up for loosing those memories.

App Crashes When Typing. The app tends to crash when I type into my journal. I tried deleting and re-adding the app, but the same thing happens. No updates found, but the app crashes. The only saving grace is that my work is saved, but it is frustrating to jot down my ideas in the midst of an app crash. UPDATE: a few months ago, I updated to a new phone. Let me tell you that the problem still exists. I tried reaching out to support for the app and on social media. No one has responded to why this keeps happening. I could write it off as a one off, but this is happened on multiple phones with the same result. I used to love this app, but now I can’t stand it! If the developers aren’t willing to take the time to listen to my problem and help me resolve it, then I can no longer get conscious. Use this app ongoing issue of it crashing right in the middle of the points where I need to journal the most. Until someone from support actually helps me with this issue, I am highly recommended that anybody else that reads this review to not download or use this app. From personal experience, it is garbage, and I don’t want you to go through the same problems that I am going through.find another app to do with. That’s my best recommendation.

UPDATE YOUR APP. I see the app hasn’t been updated in 5 years. I am paying for the premium, which is great on my computer. However, nothing from my phone syncs, leaving me with all those entries gone. The app says they’re working on it, but I kinda doubt it if there hasn’t been an update in 5 years. Other than that, it’s great! But if I'm paying this much to type I want it to work!!!
