Misleading advertising as cross platform. I attempted to get a refund but Apple refused, therefore I’m going to warn everyone else; this app is advertised as having cross platform capabilities with purchase. However, what they don’t make obvious is that you have to purchase an application for each platform separately. There is no web application for diary entries. Even once you purchase the iPhone app, you still have to purchase a Windows app for $30 as well as a Mac version if you want to use your Mac computer. I had no intentions of paying $40-$50 to be able to cross platform this app, now I’m out of $10 because I deleted the app since I’m not buying the other platform versions.

Not helpful for archiving. I purchased this app because I want to archive all of my social media posts into a journal. The paid version says it can pull from your social media, so I signed up. Unfortunately, the social media data just shows up as a long stripe of text and isn’t included if you try to export. I wish I could have tested this feature before purchasing, because it was a waste of money for me. In response to the developer’s reply: the feature that connects social media is grayed out in the trial version. You don’t offer the opportunity to test it, as you said below. Also, I looked everywhere for a way to contact you about this before posting a review, but all your contact links dump to a forum. It’s a mistake to attack people for honest reviews of your product.

Terrible licensing for multi platform.. I downloaded this, but according to the FAQ, I will need to purchase three separate licenses to be able to synch across my iPhone, Mac laptop, and desktop PC. That’s absurd and not even a feature at that point.

Not ready for prime time. I used the free version for years until I replaced my android phone. There was no option in the free version to sign in and recover my dairy entries. Using paper is better than this!

Does not sync unless you buy. So heres my problem I bought the pro version cause the whole cloud storage and what not with ever intention of getting the windows app afterwards to sync them with that cloud storage. Thinking it was going to be a free app like the iPhone version with some sort of sign in to sync your paid version together. Nope your wrong if you think that. You have to pay twice for it. This does not support multi platform unless you pay for it with windows. I don't know about android. But I just wasted my money cause I'm not paying for this app twice.

Double payment?. The whole point of me paying for this app was because I could use it on my Mac and my phone and it would sync across both devices - tricked into paying for each device subscription I would get a refund if I could

October 2023: Photo issues ruin this app for me. I am using a trial pro version on my iPad, and only one day in, I am disappointed. 1. NO IN-LINE PICS. Whether you’re journaling about your dog, or your trip to Alaska, or your cousin Suzy, it’s nice to drop in a pic in your entry. The app can’t do it and doesn’t support it. I have looked through the message boards for the app, and people have asked for this for years. Why can’t the developers make this happen? (If they do, I’ll happily pay for the pro version). 2. PICS ADDED TO CALENDAR VIEW CANNOT BE DELETED OR CHANGED UNLESS YOU DELETE THE WHOLE JOURNAL ENTRY AND START OVER. The very first journal entry is created for you. It has a pic added on the day in this calendar month, and an example journal entry for you. That is fine; you can delete the text in the journal entry and add your own. You can’t delete OR CHANGE the picture (on that calendar view date) to a different one, unless you delete the whole journal entry and start over. These 2 things ruined the app for me on day one. They don’t seem like they would be that hard to fix, but I am obviously not an app developer. To me, these seem like really big flaws in a journaling app. Yes, you’re getting your thoughts down, (a basic journaling requirement), but a picture can add so much context. If they ever fix these problems, I would love the app.

No text formatting. As far as I can tell, you can’t change the font, add bold or italics, or change the font size. The latter is a deal breaker for me because I have bad eyes. Nowadays, it seems like most developers couldn’t care less about people with poor eyesight. I like the idea of cross-platform syncing, it’s what I’m looking for. But if using an app hurts my eyes then I’ll spend my money elsewhere.

No synchronization between platforms. Does not sync across platforms. I have iPhone 11 pro, iPad, and iMac. Set up to sync with google drive. Why no iCloud option? Anyway made a log entry for the stuff I did yesterday on my iPhone. Went to iMac opened the day of the entry I made on my phone and it was blank. Thought maybe it was because I made a back dated entry so I tried again do an entry for the present day. Still no sync between devices. Went to my google drive and verified I had a Diarium folder and I do. Is this because I am still on the 6 day trial? No intention to purchase until I see it work.

Alright, but…. When will the following be implemented? Ability to export data (or sync to another format) and the ability to place images inline with the text. These serious omissions are deal breakers for me. Otherwise a decent user interface. Companies want to lock you into their systems so you can never leave, but they don’t think of those many potential customers who don’t dare enter because there’s no exit, and the data is too important to lose. I’ve burnt my fingers too many times on discontinued apps with no way to retrieve all that work. Now, if exporting data was even advertised as a major selling point, people would be on the app because it’s a good app, not because they are prisoners of it.

WAS a great app. After buying the pro version for my android phone, I decided a couple months later to switch to iPhone. Little did I know that I now have to buy another pro version for iPhone! Ridiculous! Guess I’ll use the journaling app in my iPhone.

Needs Journaling Suggestions. Good app but I won’t be able to use it unless the iOS journaling suggestions API is implemented

Pro purchase. It’s an awesome app but I bought the pro version because It said you can change fonts and font sizes. ABSOLUTELY nothing is different

Not as good as I hoped. Pages are hard to see. It has no pop or personality. Can’t access text messages and hard to insert photos. Not really a calm joyous experience

Love it Been using it for years but….. If it could migrate all these other apps into it you’d think it could merge two Diarium journals but no guess not! This upsets me! I asked the dev and he doesn’t answer only asks that I put it in a forum. Oh well.

No Apple Pencil Pro Support. Worthless to me without this.

You can’t make it pretty anymore :(. I haven’t used this app in about a month and I noticed all of my pretty fonts are gone. I would’ve given it 5 stars if my fonts were still available! Now it’s just one font you can choose from so it doesn’t really make it exciting for me to use anymore

Aún falta mejorarlo más. Al subir las fotos creo que pueden mejorar y facilitar más la experiencia y también mejorar la visualización de la app en general y claro que también incluir IA

Journey on the Journal. I enjoy using the journal to write and keep up with my thoughts, projects, and progress. But, when I first starting using this app it stated that if you purchase the product that one would be able to use it across all their electronic. I made my purchase using my android but I sometimes uses my iPhone to write and apply photos. But I’m not allowed to upload photos using the iPhone because it’s asking me to upgrade (purchase) to add the photos. I already made the purchase so I refuse to repurchase again. I already don’t like apple products because of all the purchases one has to make an order to use the phone. So , the maker’s of this journal app wasn’t honest on their description of uses. I guess I just continue uploading my photos on my android. All and all the app is a good app

Like it so far. I like it so far but I wish I could print my entries.

No manual and no instructions. Most people learn better if they have written instructions. How do I save when I’m on the iPad? And where is the sync button on the iPad? It is most frustrating to do an entry and then find that it hasn’t been saved.

Great idea; needs to integrate an account licensing system. I love your app, it is a great idea and the ui is awesome. As a fellow software engineer I appreciate the effort that was put into the creation, however I can’t understand why there is not an account system for premium users. In the current setup, I am forced to buy premium for not only my mobile device, but my computer as well? Why can’t I set up a login and then be able to access my premium license from any device? It seems like an elementary solution and would make loads more sense. I believe it is also probably time to migrate the desktop app to a cloud web application. I would love to help with this project if you want an open source partner.

Why do I need to click twice to start writing a diary?. Can't Diarium just start writing and change the date later? For those who like to jot down their thoughts on the go, this extra step is quite inconvenient.😫😫😮💨

Great app except…. The app itself is fantastic. What’s not fantastic is that to get the pro version that allows you to sync between all devices you have to purchase the pro version for each device. So after you pay 8.99 for it on your laptop where they clearly state you’ll be able to sync between devices then they want you to pay an additional 5.99 for it on your phone too! So great app but their bait and switch with pricing is super shady. Losing 4 stars for me. Too bad! You should really be transparent with your customers.

Pretty good. I have used it every day for about 3 weeks. I like a lot of it, but i wish it was easier to see all of the things I am putting in. and what I would love is like a running gratitude list that could go on every day. and will I guess if there is one if I could find it easy.

It’s good but. Still haven’t been able to figure out how I can go back-and-forth between my computer and the app. And I tried. I prefer to type on the computer. So I love the app, but I really need both.

Nice journal, but photo quality is awful. I ended up deleting this app because it compresses photos and videos sonnuch that they look terrible.

Timestamping. All of my entries are without the time I actually wrote them. I just noticed that for every entry, I have to remember to include the timestamp for it to appear in the entry. You cannot add it afterward either. It would be great if there were an option to include the timestamp when an entry is added automatically.

Windows version problem. I brought one for my desk top and for my IPhone. Everything was working well until last week. Now the windows version for the desk top will open but as soon as you try to enter something it immediately closes. Not sure who to contact. It was a great product until this problem occurred.
