   They will Scam you!. They offered a 50% off a year but when the actual charge came through it was full price. They were unwilling to give a refund and even after multiple escalations held to the full price. False advertising. Ruthless and totally not customer friendly.

   Too many icks. Requires a login, even to simply browse. The pop-up that requests for you to subscribe appears impossible to close; the X to close is hidden as the same color as the background image, which is straight-up unaccessible. I just want a list of trails, and this got in the way far too quickly for me to continue using this app

   DO NOT BUY PAID PLANS. Do not spend money of a paid plan for this app. This app used to be great for on trail navigation and planning hiking trips but recently it is unusable. App will freeze and crash if you use it for more than 2 minutes and they don’t do anything to fix the problem. DO NOT BUY. Look for alternative

   Terrible and won’t accept cancel subscription. This app is not helpful and doesn’t allow you to cancel your trial subscription until after they charge you. There is no way to cancel in the app. You have to do it thru iPhone settings and it doesn’t show up there. Only discovered they charged me anyway by checking my CC statement. Had to file complaint with my CC to get refund. Scammers. Don’t fall for this.

   Constantly freezes. Have paid for AllTrails for many years and loved it. The past couple months however it’s been unusable buggy. It constantly freezes and crashes. Huge bummer. Would welcome an alternative app.

   Paid subscription is a fraud. The app told me I had a free 7-days trial and I would be notified on day 5 before I’m charged on day 7. I agreed, and they charged my card for the whole annual subscription immediately. No way to request a refund. The support only offers to do it through Apple, and Apple says, “You have no purchases eligible for a refund”

   Kept crashing had to use Gaia GPS. I recently went on a 3 day backpacking trip, signed up for the plus trial and had everything updated including my system software. The first day everything seemed to be going great until around 7pm. The app kept crashing every time the map category of the app was opened. After a couple of phone restarts I was finally able to end the route and restart it. The next day was fine there were about 2 times in the day where I had to restart my phone in order for the app to keep working. Day 3 was no good I tried everything I could but could not get the app to work. Every time the map section was opened the app immediately crashed. If I had to use gaia gps which thankfully I downloaded as a backup and even after hours of hiking I would try to see if AllTrails would work again but it just kept crashing. 1 star, i cannot reccomend

    Terrible backend. Tried to update and create a new password, had to even create new profile, lost all my data, and still couldn’t get through the login…whatever glitch has me never wanting to waste another second on this useless app

    garbage. trash app. first hike that I tracked- a rigorous nearly 4 mile hike did not save an ounce of data. will never use again !

    Great app for stalkers. Even with all of my privacy data set to private, my full name, photo, and LOCATION are visible to the public via Google search results. There is no way to turn this off. Incredibly dangerous for solo hikers, and very deceptive- what’s the point of a private profile if it’s visible to the entire internet?!

    It’s so so. I decided to pay to upgrade to see if the app would be that much more useful. It’s not. In addition, I now get new pop-ups this time to upgrade to their peak program. It was really frustrating having the app give us directions in Blue as we headed up but then completely disappear and not show us where we were nor any blue markings like a did on the way up. It feels like they have a monopoly and are treating the customers development of the app accordingly

    Terrible. This app is so terrible it could literally lead you to your death. Infuriating to use and poorly integrated with any other mapping apps or system. It constantly is trying to get you to login and share data. Literally deadly problem when at the edge of service. Use anything but this.

    Frustrating to use. Whilst scrolling through the locations, it continually revert you back to the top of the list for no reason at all, so you have to scroll through all the locations you’ve already seen. Makes you want to stop using the app.

    Useless unless you pay premium. I downloaded this because it said there was a 7-day free trial, but there really wasn’t. Everything I tried to explore, to see if I liked the app, kept resulting in annoying ad pop-ups asking me to sign up to premium. I couldn’t view how the maps worked, how you would follow directions, the 3D option. Nothing, so I can’t make a judgement on if the app would work for me. I’ve deleted it. Also some people here mention a free version, I definitely didn’t get an option to do anything for free, so they’ve taken that option away. Shame. I was looking for something like this for walking with.

    Used to be good. 2nd year using the app on subscription, 1st year was great, last two months directions are off, app keeps freezing, need to restart, share link feature only works if you copy link, can’t share directly, directions arrow all over the place (no it’s not my compass). Please fix the bugs or return the money.

    Clunky UI/UX. Just clunky and slow.. some things don’t load properly. Very awkward and confusing experience. Also, thought I was signing up for a trial. Not sure I was tricked by dark pattern UX or my mistake. Ended up paying for a year.

    Money taken. Money was taken (£35.99), from my account without any consent. Tried to rectify the issue, all they offered in the form of customer service was a dysfunctional chat bot that deliberately seemed to ‘fob you off’ or stall you. Human contact avoided by them. Be very aware. Check your finances if you’ve interacted in the past.

    Be wary. I signed up for a free 7-day trial. The app told me they would take the annual fee of £35.99 at the end of the trial with free cancellation until then. On initiating the “free” trial they then took the whole fee which I subsequently had to claim a refund through Apple. Be wary if you’re planning on using the free trial it is not as advertised.

    Froze within 30 seconds. Don’t bother. Definitely don’t buy. Froze within 30 seconds of opening when trying to open ‘ Download your area’.
