Not recommended for Portugal. App likely uses your cycling routes to generate data, and I do not recommend this for use in Portugal unless you’re on the most commonly cycled areas with only one route option. We did not find Ride with GPS helpful for any route planning while cycling Portugal, and certainly did not help us along the EV1 or north of Porto. Google maps and Apple Maps generated better information for route planning, which is not saying much. Some European cyclists advise using Kamoot instead of Ride with GPS. It may work better in the US rather than Europe, and we found it strange to be paying for this app which likely uses our subsequent route information to be generating its data. Clearly needs more work for cycling in Spain and Portugal, unless you’re doing loop rides in a popular city

Can’t share. Terrible restricts all ride sharing

No thanks. We’re done.. Trip in Holland was the worst ever directions. Kept giving mirrored directions. And took us through the worst route through cities in rush hour. Dangerous situations.

Sucks. Surprised how much this app has sucked. Works better on a laptop, but I’m traveling!!!! Used it in Australia, Thailand and I kept reverting to google maps. Can’t wait for another company to come out w something clean, straightforward and useful on the phone.

Not easy to use. Not intuitive. Didn’t help me map off road bike routes any better than Apple Maps

Mobile route planning. Terrible to worse
- ★★★★★basic navigation locked behind a paywall
Useless. Literally a brick without subscription. No navigation or planning is possible
- ★★★★★crashes, freezes and errors
Absolutely horrible.. The iOS version freezes up more than a naked Eskimo. This is true for both my iPhone, and my iPad, both of which are the latest. When it isn’t frozen, it is merely unresponsive. Don’t waste your money or your emotional well-being on this pile of garbage. The accuracy is a sadististical joke. Honestly, look elsewhere. This company doesn’t deserve to be in business.

Still no dark mode…. A decade later, another update later and still no native dark mode support and the app still has the iOS UI from a decade ago. Here’s for hoping the next release update…

Clunky app. I like that I can navigate a safe route and share routes. But this app is difficult to use and counterintuitive. It is hard to make it stop recording. It is hard to plan routes. It seems like it needs to be redesigned from the ground up. Now it is more difficult to use because pop-up upsell ads constantly appear and are hard to dismiss without accidentally subscribing. I find this app infuriating because i would really like an app that navigated bike routes. Google maps doesn’t always pick the safe roads. This app usually does but it is so incredibly clunky to use.

Not Intuitive. I’m trying hard to figure this out. But so many things don’t make sense. Just went on a long ride following a route but deviated assuming it was recording my path like other apps do. But nope.

Feature-bloated and strategically misaligned. Social features don’t just add complexity to the UI — they justify collecting data I never agreed to share when I subscribed for a navigation tool.

Difficult to use.. Really difficult to use.

Soooo confusing. Incredibly frustrating registration process. Once that’s accomplished, there’s a deep dive to learn to use the very basics. Forget about anything advanced unless you’ve got loads of time to spend or a buddy who’s already mastered it. Google Maps is infinitely easier to use

Be careful when canceling on the APP.. Used once and cancelled right away. Still have been charged.

Power Numbers. You don’t want this App as it messes up your power numbers. The power numbers are bogus as the program uses an algorithm. Not scientific at all. I had to recalibrate my Quartz power meter on my bike as well as disconnect from my Training Peaks and Wahoo Roam. Then delete the App. How very disappointing.Thankfully I only purchased a one months subscription
- ★★★★★trial charges and refunds
7 Day Trial is not a trial. 7 Day trial prompt is actually a link to subscribe for a year. Hope i can get refunded

Hard to cancel. I tried to cancel my subscription in the App Store like normal but couldn’t find it, I really hope I’m not charged! If the Ride with GPS folks are reading this, please help!

Envoie vers garmin. Je tente d’envoyer les fichier gpx du GDPL 2025 sur mon garmin et message d’erreur. On me demande de contacter RWGPS….

Heart rate doesn’t work. Even though the Apple Watch heart rate is logged in the health app correctly this app is unable to read it. Very frustrating!

Fitbit. I wish it would work with my sense 2 Fitbit device
- ★★★★★data, history or progress disappears
Zero!. Can not log in, can not delete account, can not change password!

Worst Ever. Of all the apps I’ve tried over the years to guide me on my bike trips this was by far the worst. The list of issues is long. Suffice to say I dropped it less than a day into the free trial.
- ★★★★★crashes, freezes and errors
Really good but room for improvement. Overall so much better than Strava or Garmin but the pc/browser route planning still is buggy when adjusting course.

Glitches every time. Unreliable. Wouldn’t recommend

Piece of crap. I have a Garmin 530 and despite 2hrs of effort to connect ride with gps to the device via the connect and connect iq app, nothing happens. I’ve paid for a subscription and can’t get any of the routes to my device so as far as I’m concerned it’s a total waste of time and money.

Always crashes for some reason. When a open bigger routes or when I open the editor it always crashes

You had 1 job. Downloaded and started a subscription for 1 reason - to find routes where I’m currently staying and send them to my Garmin. Have routes sitting my library. Spent 45 minutes screwing around and googling how to sync to my Garmin from the App (which is very easy via Strava and other platforms). There are great in-depth support articles on how to do this via wired connection from what appears to be Windows 3.1. None of their other resources were helpful, and after 45 minutes I’ve given up. Want more subscribers? Stop trying to be yet another garbage social media app and actually make your App do something useful.
- ★★★★★data, history or progress disappears
Not workable. The app is a good idea in theory and is well laid out. That said it has failed consistently to accurately track my ride for the past month. Previously it worked quite well on my iPhone 8S. But something has changed and it’s lost its marbles. I hope they can get a workaround

Useless for Canadians. I live in Vancouver which is about 20 miles from the US, and when I put in to search for mapped rides all it shows me are rides in the US. Not much good when the border is closed due to the scamdemic.
