  1. ★★★★negative experience without a specific reason· unspecific

Can’t read downloaded magazines offline. This app requires the Internet to read downloaded Rouleur magazine editions. Apple Books, Kindle, PDF reader, Netflix, Amazon movies, practically all Podcast apps, Google Docs, Word among many other apps allow for working with downloaded content while offline, but not this one. Don’t plan on reading digital Rouleur while out in the country or on an airplane. Epic fail.

  2. ★★★★subscription and paid restrictions

DNF. This update is horrible - it won’t allow you to log in! During the biggest bike race, let’s roll out a half baked updated. Genius. And I pay for this?!

  3. ★★★★negative experience without a specific reason· unspecific

App design horrible. Love the content. Hate the app.

  4. ★★★★negative experience without a specific reason· unspecific

Magazine is fantastic. App is a pice of crap.. The title pretty much says it all.

  5. ★★★★subscription and paid restrictions

How do I access the subscription I already paid for??. Confusing, useless. I wish I lived in an area where I could just get the print copy delivered to my house.

  6. ★★★★subscription and paid restrictions

App DOES NOT WORK. This application used to work fine, I had a subscription for some time, then it just stopped opening. This is a great cycling magazine, for $160 for the print version in the USA, I'll pass if I can't get it for $30 for 6 months on my iPad. Do not buy the subscription, the App just plain doesn't work, and I have tried contacting the publisher with no success.

  7. ★★★★negative experience without a specific reason· unspecific

    HELP!. App crashes on launch!

  8. ★★★★crashes, freezes and errors

App broken. App will not load, keeps crashing. App support cannot be accessed.

  9. ★★★★crashes, freezes and errors

Crash on open. Latest iOS update breaks app, crash on open.

  10. ★★★★negative experience without a specific reason· unspecific

Purchase fails. I've bought quite a few issues but now purchase fails every time.

  11. ★★★★negative experience without a specific reason· unspecific

Continual login / tech issues. The resubscribe process was a nightmare - requesting single use codes which either arrived the next day (one of them) or not at all. By time of arrival, the one code I had received had expired. Then having finally done that (presumably someone figured out they weren’t signing up any new/returning customers), trying to login on the app and that doesn’t work either. Utterly dismal customer experience I’m afraid.

  12. ★★★★negative experience without a specific reason· unspecific

Really poor. Whoever runs the app side of this mag needs to have a serious look into their CX - subscribed, set up an account, downloaded the app, can’t log in so therefore can’t use the app. Well done, managed to completely ruin any semblance of a good customer experience. Straight away unsubscribed and wont be back.

  13. ★★★★saving, exporting or sharing the result fails

Need to get the basics right. While the magazine is great and the app in general okay I’m constantly frustrated by a basic but fundamental flaw. The app keeps logging me out and then when I log back in I have to re-download the content and all my bookmarks are lost. Very disappointing and I’d expected much better.

  14. ★★★★subscription and paid restrictions

Poor app. This is a good mag but the app is poor. The new edition of the magazine takes a long time to appear on the app after it’s released in the shops. When it does appear it is poorly formatted for iPad with tiny pages. This is frustrating when you’ve paid money for a subscription. This is an issue raised opinion the reviews in 2018 which they claimed they had fixed but obviously not. I contacted the publishers about this and they blamed Apple, but it doesn’t take away from the fact that they are taking money from people and not providing the service they sold.

  15. ★★★★negative experience without a specific reason· unspecific

Useless. Subscribed , got a code for the App, downloaded the app, followed instructions, inserted code and voila! What have I got but bugger all!

  16. ★★★★subscription and paid restrictions

Another update another fail. 29 Nov 2018 : sad to see this app has (like others) moved away from the magazine format to a more clunky interface. It’s lost it’s charm and is no longer excellent in terms of presentation. I’ve sadly cancelled my long standing subscription as a consequence. 18 Mar 2018 update. The new issue has been out in print for nearly a week now but no sign of it being available on iPad. This is the second app update in a row where the app crashes on opening. Please validate your app updates more thoroughly before releasing. Can't open the app and therefore can't read the journal.

  17. ★★★★subscription and paid restrictions

Where is 18.7? And pre-18.1?. Digital editions take far too long to be available after the print editions (12 days and counting since 18.7 was available in print). Also anything pre-2018 not available at all. Difficult to justify renewing the subscription. Then I get a response from the developer from 1year ago! Stating they had problems with uploading 17.3 and all should be ok now! Well it’s not. Shoddy. Update 7th November - 18.7 still not available, 18 days after the print edition. Very poor indeed.

  18. ★★★★negative experience without a specific reason· unspecific

17.8. I have the hard copy yet it doesn’t show in the iPad app - bizarre !

  19. ★★★★negative experience without a specific reason· unspecific

Crashes. Just signed up and app crashes on start up.

  20. ★★★★subscription and paid restrictions

New app for 2018 is impossible! Subscription canceled.. This new app 5.1 is garbage, absolutely garbage. I want my money back! Avoid at all costs.

  21. ★★★★subscription and paid restrictions

Unusable. Whatever "fixes" were made with the last update have rendered the app unusable. Completely unusable. I have it installed on two iPads and and iPhone and cannot use it on any of them. I have deleted and re-installed. I have rebooted the devices. No help at all, the app is unusable. It opens, then immediately closes. No opportunity to sign in or to access the content I have paid for. So at this point the many hundreds of dollars of content I have paid for is just gone. I cannot access it, cannot read it. Very sad indeed.

  22. ★★★★negative experience without a specific reason· unspecific

Crashes again. Crashes again, no support......rule number 5#

  23. ★★★★subscription and paid restrictions

Overcharged. Annual subscription wasn’t working properly and was charged an additional fee for the next issue. New issues seem to take ages to be available for iPad as well.

  24. ★★★★slow performance and long loading times

Good mag, terrible app. Crashes constantly when a new version comes out. It last happened in February, now it's happening again. The difference is that in February I could contact the (slow and useless) support. Now not only their crappy app is crashing, but the login for their support system is crashing too!

  25. ★★★★★negative experience without a specific reason· unspecific

Great magazine, less than ideal reading experience. Rouleur is a great magazine with great content, but the app isn't tailored for iPhone or iPad. It's basically a photo of each page that you zoom into in order to read it. Would be great if it was more like Wired magazine's experience.

  26. ★★★★★login, signup and account access

Dumb app design for great publication. Rouleur is great. Rouleur's app is idiotic. To access issues I've purchase, it requires me to sign in at least once a week using not my Apple ID, but my Rouleur log in. Otherwise, I can't access the issues. This means that I can't access them if I'm off line. What? I don't see why I have to sign in to access this material at all. It's my iPad. I purchased these issues on it. I have already verified my identity and downloaded the issues. This is stupid stupid stupid stuff. Rouleur, come on.

  27. ★★★★★a needed feature is missing

Don’t too small. I agree with some of the other reviews about the navigation around the app. It is not intuitive! Took me ages to get back to the story I wanted when a button was inadvertently touched. But my biggest beef is with the font size, it is the same with the paper version. It is far too small, you almost need a pair of Bino’s to read it. App viewed on iPad mini, so would be nice if you could use the zoom with the fingers that you can on most other things on an apple device.

  28. ★★★★★subscription and paid restrictions

Where is March 18.2?. New issue has been available in print for over one week and still not showing on the app. Online customers are paying for a service they aren’t receiving.

  29. ★★★★★negative experience without a specific reason· unspecific

Buy the print version. Rouleur is great in print but the iPad version is a lazy copy, it doesn't work as a direct copy. Other magazines (see Cyclist) have made the format work. Quite disappointing that Rouleur haven't got there as it's not a cheap publication.

  30. ★★★★★mixed experience without a specific reason· unspecific

Confused user journey. The app looks great but the navigation of it and what individual buttons do remains a mystery. If the main aim of the user is to download a mag then it’s fine for that - everything else is tucked behind a huge nav and labels o. The main page which don’t seem to do anything.
