Not Enough Photos. Most car listings only show about 6 photos, and many do not include any interior pictures. I would never buy a car without seeing the inside first. Interior photos are just as important as exterior photos. The app would be much more helpful if sellers were required to upload more pictures, especially of the interior, dashboard, seats, trunk, and overall condition of the vehicle.

Can’t Sign in with email. I started using this app years ago. Now i have a new phone, i downloaded the app and i can’t sign in with my email address. I can sign in on the website with my email address, but the app has now determined I no longer have a valid email address. Thank you for nothing cars.com. I will just use CarGurus or Autotrader.

Something went wrong. I used to love this app for shopping for cars. As of lately it allows sellers to put fake prices up. It won’t allow you to report the postings. It doesn’t know how to filter cars properly. I searched for electric and it keeps showing me hydrogen cars. On to the next app I guess.

Connection Error. My family member was looking at purchasing a used exotic from a local so I went to my cars.com app but I kept getting a “connection error”. I eventually switched locations but received the same error. When I opened my CarGuru app, I didn’t have a problem.

Fire your Entire Software Team. Just the biggest swings in software I have ever seen. One week the app works great. The next the layout is completely different and app constantly crashes and is rendered entirely useless. Whoever is behind this at cars.com, without hyperbole, needs to be fired immediately. It is 2026 figure it out.

App issues.. Cars.com is my fave way to search for vehicles. Lately this new app has fallen to the back of the pack. The app has been real buggy and we don’t want AI search engines. Real car people want to be able to search exactly what they want. Right now I’m unable to go back after I’ve selected a car. It doesn’t let me go back to my search results. It’s very annoying.

Forces an update. I don’t want a 50MB update right now, the app forces you to click update, as if it is so exciting and new and I MUST have it before I do a basic search on a car. The dev team should allow a grace period of more than a week, shrug… it’s not critical to update this kind of app where it wont even open unless it’s updated.

New app is terrible. I access this on an iPad and you cannot scroll down to see any details, the pictures are way too big and in general the UX is terrible. This has been going on since the big update earlier this year. Don’t know why y’all had to change it so much as this version is horrible.

Hire a good UI designer. Seriously who approved the most recent update? Just made the UI more complex and hard to read for zero reason. Did you guys hire the person from Autotrader who trashed their UI too?

Used to be good. I have used this app in the past. Minor problems. I actually knew someone that worked for Cars.com, that was able to post my ad for me due to all the difficulty. The last few cars that I have tried to sell, it does not recognize my username. It does not recognize my password. It recognizes it enough to send me a reset link. But then it still does not work. A few months ago, I sold my daughter’s car. I was able to set up the ad with photos. I wanted to add more photos, it would not let me. Then it locked me out. Funny enough, I was still able to respond to people inquiring about it. I just could not edit the ad. I could not add photos or lower the price.
